Rutgers-Camden Athletics

Jay Gorman got his first taste of collegiate action last season and did a stellar job out of the Scarlet Raptors’ bullpen in five games. He returns to the Rutgers-Camden pitching staff as a sophomore in 2015.
 
Baseball 2014: Appeared in five games in relief, working everywhere from 1-2/3 to four innings…Compiled a 2-0 record and a 3.46 ERA in 13 innings…Allowed 10 hits, seven walks and two hit batsmen, while striking out eight…Held opponents to a .213 batting average…Made his collegiate debut with two hitless, scoreless innings against Worcester State (March 18), walking one batter and striking out two…Hurled 2-1/3 shutout innings, allowing one hit and one walk, while striking out two against DeSales University (April 14)…Picked up his first collegiate win with three innings of work against Penn State-Brandywine (April 22), allowing five hits, three earned runs and one walk, while fanning two…Added another win in a 3-2 victory over Eastern University (April 28), working his season high of four innings and allowing three hits and one earned run…Walked four and struck out two in that game…Final outing came with 1-2/3 innings of one-hit ball against Montclair State (May 1), walking one and allowing one earned run.
 
High School: Two-year baseball letterman at Clearview Regional High School…Honored as the Pioneers’ Unsung Hero at the High School Baseball Banquet…Also earned one letter playing football at Clearview…National Honor Society member…Honor Roll student.
