Jesse Gerdes transferred to Rutgers-Camden for the 2020 baseball season, only to see that campaign limited to six games by the COVID-19 pandemic. He played 59 games over the past two seasons, starting 58. The Scarlet Raptors’ shortstop during the 2022 campaign, he finished his Rutgers-Camden career with a .258 batting average, while ranking among the career defensive leaders with 166 assists (16th) and 20 double plays (25th).
