Biography

A transfer who played at the Gloucester campus of Rowan College of South Jersey, Jose Correa Jr. started 20 games for the Scarlet Raptors and led the team in hitting during his first year at Rutgers-Camden.
 
Baseball 2024: Led the Scarlet Raptors in hitting with a .372 average…Appeared in 31 games, starting 20…In 78 at bats, had 29 hits, including seven doubles and one home run, for a .500 slugging percentage…Hit by a pitch once and walked six times for a .424 on-base percentage…Had one sacrifice…Scored nine runs and collected 11 RBIs…Fourth on the team with 42 assists…Added 18 putouts and contributed to six double plays…Started 10 games at shortstop, seven at third base and three as the designated hitter…Had six multiple-hit games and two multiple-RBI games…Made his first Rutgers-Camden appearances in both ends of a doubleheader against Immaculata (Feb. 24), with his first start coming in the second game, when he went 1-for-3 with his first assist while playing third base…Started at shortstop and went 3-for-4 with one run against UMass-Dartmouth (March 14)…Went 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI while starting at shortstop against Kean (April 6, Game Two)…Had his biggest game of the season with a 4-for-5 performance against Rutgers-Newark (April 13, Game One), collecting one double, scoring one run and driving home three runs…Ripped a solo home run, while going 1-for-2 with one run, one walk, one HBP and one RBI in the nightcap of a doubleheader at William Paterson (April 27, Game Two)…Went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run and one RBI in a New Jersey Athletic Conference playoff game against The College of New Jersey (May 3)…Had a season-high three putouts, while adding three assists, against Keystone (April 9)…Collected four assists against York (March 7), Rowan (April 12) and Ramapo (April 20, Game Two).
 
Pre-Rutgers: Was a member of three Region 19 baseball championship teams (2019, 2021 and 2022) at Rowan College of South Jersey’s Gloucester campus…The Roadrunners made three NJCAA Baseball World Series appearances during those years, finishing as the runner-up in 2019.
 
High School: Three-year baseball letterman at LEAP Academy University Charter School for Coach Ray Rossi…Earned All-South Jersey Group 1 Second Team honors…Graduated in 2018.
