Rutgers-Camden Athletics

Mike Calabrese appeared in 23 games at Rutgers-Camden, making 16 starts and seven relief appearances. In 76.1 innings, he compiled a 4-6 record and a 7.78 ERA, walking 60 and striking out 53. He also served as one of the Scarlet Raptors’ tri-captains for 2021.

Baseball 2020: Started half of the games Rutgers-Camden played during the 2020 season, which was shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic…Led the staff in starts (3), innings (16), strikeouts (15) and wins, posting a 2-0 record and a 2.81 ERA…Held opponents to a .274 batting average…Allowed 17 hits, seven walks, eight runs and five earned runs…Hit one batter…Earned the Raptors’ first win of the season in the nightcap of a doubleheader against Immaculata (Feb. 23), working four innings of five-hit ball in a seven-inning, 20-3 victory…Walked four and struck out six…Started and worked five innings against Oneonta (March 1, Game One), allowing eight hits and four runs (only one earned), while walking one and striking out four…Rutgers-Camden won the game, 6-5, with Calabrese not figuring in the decision…Posted his second victory in the Raptors’ last game of the year, a 12-4 win at Neumann (March 9)…Worked seven innings of four-hit ball, allowing two earned runs and two walks, while striking out five.
 
Baseball 2019: Appeared in six games, starting five and working 20-1/3 innings…Compiled a 1-2 record and a 7.52 ERA…Allowed 18 hits and 17 walks, while striking out nine…Made an impressive season debut with five scoreless innings, allowing three hits and three walks against Ripon (March 18), while striking out one…Took the loss against Hamilton (March 23), working three innings with six hits, three walks, three strikeouts and five earned runs…Earned the win with three innings against Widener (April 9), allowing two hits, six walks and four earned runs, while striking out one…Allowed four earned runs against both DeSales (April 16) in 3-1/3 innings and Immaculata (April 22) in five innings, taking the loss against the Mighty Macs…Allowed two unearned runs, one hit and one walk in one inning against The College of New Jersey (April 29).
 
Baseball 2018: Pitched in six games, making three starts…Worked 14-2/3 innings, allowing 24 hits and 19 runs (12 earned)…Walked nine and struck out seven…Compiled a 7.36 ERA and didn’t have a decision…After compiling a 34.71 ERA over 2-1/3 innings in three relief appearances, he fashioned a 2.20 ERA over 12-1/3 innings in his three starts that followed…Worked one-third of an inning at Stevenson University (March 4) in his Rutgers-Camden debut;, allowing two hits, one walk, one hit batsman and six runs, four of them unearned…Allowed four runs, four hits and one walk over one inning against both Webster University (March 13) and FDU-Florham (March 27), with one of the runs against FDU being unearned…Had one strikeout in each game…Made his first start against DeSales University (April 10), working four innings of two-hit ball, walking three, striking out three and allowing two runs, one of them unearned…Allowed three runs (two earned), eight hits and three walks, while striking out one in a 5-2/3-inning start against Moravian College (April 24)…Hurled 2-2/3 innings of four-hit shutout ball at York College of Pennsylvania (May 2), striking out one without issuing a walk.
