Mike Thompson was a member of the Rutgers-Camden baseball team for the third straight season in 2020, but hadn’t made a mound appearance before the campaign was shut down prematurely due to the coronavirus pandemic. During his Raptor career, Thompson has pitched in eight games in relief, posting a 2.61 career ERA.

Baseball 2019: Made five relief appearances, sporting a 0-0 record and a 4.76 ERA in 5-2/3 innings…Walked five and struck out six…Allowed one hit in one-third of a scoreless inning against Ripon (March 18)…Allowed one hit, three walks and one earned run in one inning against Rutgers-Newark (April 4), while striking out three…Hurled one inning against Rowan (April 12), allowing three hits and two earned runs, while fanning two…Closed the season with two scoreless appearances, working one inning against Immaculata (April 22) while allowing one hit, and pitching 2-1/3 innings against Ramapo (April 28), allowing three hits and two walks, while striking out one.
Baseball 2018: Made three relief appearances without allowing an earned run in his 4-2/3 innings…Allowed four hits and five unearned runs, while walking one and striking out five…Held opponents to a .182 batting average…Had one fielding chance, collecting a putout in his first collegiate game against Neumann University (April 18) to compile a 1.000 fielding percentage…Hurled three innings of two-hit ball in the Neumann game, allowing only one walk and three unearned runs, while striking out five…Retired the only two batters he faced against Montclair State University (April 21, Game One)…Worked one inning against New Jersey City University (April 28, Game One), allowing two hits and two unearned runs.
