Rutgers-Camden Athletics

One of the main cogs out of the Rutgers-Camden bullpen as a freshman, Owen Davenport posted a 3.86 ERA in 16-1/3 innings and earned a weekly honor in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. He also captured academic honors in his first collegiate semester.

Baseball 2023: Appeared in 11 games, all out of the bullpen for the second-highest number of relief appearances on the team…Posted a 3.86 ERA in 16-1/3 innings…Allowed 17 hits and eight runs, seven earned…Walked five, hit three and struck out eight…Opponents hit .279 off him…Didn’t have a decision on the mound…Collected two assists in two chances for a 1.000 fielding percentage…Made his collegiate debut against Plymouth State (March 15) with two scoreless innings, allowing only one hit…Had a season high of three strikeouts in two innings against Ursinus (March 25, Game One), allowing two hits, two walks and two runs, only one earned…Worked 2-1/3 innings in the opener of a doubleheader with Ramapo (April 8), allowing two hits, one walk and one run…Pitched a perfect eighth inning against Arcadia (April 18), getting a pair of ground outs and a fly out…Pitched a perfect eighth inning against nationally-ranked Rowan (April 21), notching two strikeouts in the process, to allow Rutgers-Camden to rally for an extra-inning victory…Had back-to-back one-inning scoreless outings against Alvernia (April 25, with one hit and one walk) and The College of New Jersey (April 27, with one strikeout), allowing him to captured New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie Pitcher of the Week honors on May 1…Also had back-to-back one-inning scoreless outings in NJAC games against The College of New Jersey (May 1, allowing two hits) and Montclair State (May 2, allowing one hit)…Overall, in 11 outings, had seven scoreless appearances and allowed only one earned run in three other games.
