A transfer who played shortstop and pitched at Southeastern Community College in Iowa, Pedro Perez Jr. joins the Scarlet Raptors’ program this season.
 
Pre-Rutgers: Played one season at Southeastern Community College in 2014, helping his team earn a berth in the NJCAA Division III World Series after winning the North Plains District…Hit .311 (55-for-212) with a .366 on-base percentage and a .358 slugging percentage…Scored 40 runs and added 29 RBIs and 10 doubles…On the mound, in 12 games, posted a 2-1 record and five saves in 13 innings…Had a 2.77 ERA.
 
High School: Four-year baseball letterman at Burlington City High School for Coach Scott Yeager…All-Conference First Team…Carpenter Cup team three years…Also captured three football letters…Earned 2013 Rawlings/Perfect Game USA Preseason Northeast Region All High School Senior Second Team honors…Also from Perfect Game, earned 2012 Underclass High Honorable Mention and 2011 Underclass Honorable Mention…Received high grades in numerous national showcases.
