Biography

Rob Scanlan has appeared in 82 career games at Rutgers-Camden, starting 38 and hitting .265 (40-for-151) with 30 walks and a .408 on-base percentage…He owns 17 career RBIs and 29 runs, while collecting six doubles, one triple and 10 stolen bases in 17 attempts.
 
Academics: Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2018 Fall, 2019 Fall, 2020 Spring and 2020 Fall semesters…Dean’s List student.
 
Baseball 2021: Played in 26 of the Scarlet Raptors’ 27 games, starting 20…Hit .217 with two doubles, 13 runs and six RBIs…Had a team-leading 14 walks…Had 14 strikeouts and was hit by three pitches…Compiled a .368 on-base percentage…Successful on six of nine stolen base attempts to finish second on the team in steals…Compiled a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in 45 chances (43 putouts and two assists)…Went 3-for-4 with three runs, a double, two walks and three stolen bases at Stockton (April 22)…Went 2-for-4 at William Paterson (March 21, Game Two)…Went 1-for-3 with two walks, one stolen base, two runs and two RBIs against New Jersey City (April 10, Game Two)…Had a season-high six putouts while going 1-for-5 with a double and one run scored at Stockton (April 23).
 
Baseball 2020: Started all six games as the Raptors’ right fielder during the brief six-game season, which ended early due to the COVID-19 pandemic…Hit .368 with four runs and three RBIs…Tied for the club lead with three walks and one sacrifice fly, while also reaching base once as a hit batsman…Had one double, one sacrifice and was 2-for-3 on his stolen base attempts…Posted a .421 slugging percentage and a .458 on-base percentage…Went 1-for-5 in a season-opening doubleheader at Immaculata (Feb. 23), collecting a RBI on a sacrifice fly in the opener and notching two walks and three runs in the nightcap…Had a huge doubleheader against Oneonta on March 1 to earn honors as Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week on March 2…In the first Oneonta game, went 3-for-3 with a double, one run, one RBI and two stolen bases, while adding one sacrifice and one putout…In the nightcap, went 2-for-3 with one RBI, one HBP and three putouts…Went 1-for-4 at Neumann (March 9), which turned out to be the last game of the season.
 
Baseball 2019: Appeared in 24 games, starting 10…Hit .333 with nine runs and six RBIs…Collected two doubles and one triple…Was 2-for-3 on stolen base attempts…Walked 10 times and was hit by a pitch four times…Notched a .422 slugging percentage and a team-leading .492 on-base percentage…Compiled a seven-game hitting streak from April 4-13, going 11-for-23 (.478) with six runs and five RBIs…Had five multi-hit games, including three straight two-hit games from April 8-11 in which he went 6-for-11 (.545)…Went 1-for-2 with two walks and two runs against Westminster (March 22), while collecting four putouts…Also had four putouts against Rowan (April 11), when he went 2-for-3 with one run and one walk.
 
Baseball 2018: Appeared in 26 games, mostly as a defensive substitute in center field…Also started two games in center field…Went 3-for-18 (.167) with one double, three runs and two RBIs…Had three walks…Posted a .222 slugging percentage and a .286 on-base percentage…Had 17 putouts and one error for a .944 fielding percentage…Made his collegiate debut as a pinch-runner at Johns Hopkins University (March 3), scoring a run…Also scored one run in games against Stockton University (April 20) and St. Joseph’s-Long Island (May 11, Game Two)…Drew two walks, included a bases-loaded one in the eighth inning for his first collegiate RBI, April 18 at Neumann University…Had an eighth-inning single against Moravian College (April 24) for his first collegiate hit…Collected his first collegiate RBI with a fielder’s choice and also added a single during his first collegiate start, coming at Kean University (April 29)…Went 1-for-4 with his first double against Rowan University in the NJAC playoffs (May 1)…Added his career high of four putouts in center field.
 
High School: Captured three varsity letters apiece in baseball and basketball at Kingsway Regional High School…As a junior, earned All-Conference First Team honors in baseball for Coach Ian Enders…Captured All-Conference Second Team baseball honors as a senior…Graduated in 2017.
