Skyler Glover got his first taste of collegiate baseball last season, appearing in three games for the Scarlet Raptors, but his biggest accomplishments came off the field. He was named as the 2016 Philadelphia Phillies’ Jackie Robinson Scholar, in conjunction with the Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) Program. The $3,000 scholarship is awarded by each Major League Baseball team to a player on its affiliated RBI Senior Team (ages 16-18). Glover received his honor at a special awards ceremony at Citizen’s Bank Park on April 15, the anniversary of the day in 1947 that Jackie Robinson broke baseball’s color barrier with the Brooklyn Dodgers.
   
Baseball 2016: Appeared in three games for the Scarlet Raptors, hitting .333 (1-for-3)…Had his freshman eligibility restored following injury...Scored one run and had three putouts in as many chances for a 1.000 fielding percentage…Made his collegiate debut against York College of Pennsylvania (March 9), going 0-for-1 and adding one putout…Had two putouts and went 0-for-1 in a game against Washington University (St. Louis, Missouri) on March 15…Notched his first collegiate hit with a single, going 1-for-1 and scoring one run, in a game against Johns Hopkins University (March 26).
 
High School: Multi-sport athlete who captured eight varsity letters at Haddon Heights High School, starring in baseball, football and basketball…Two-time All-Conference baseball player for Coach Eric Newell…All-Division honoree as a senior in football…Had a 3.2 GPA…Earned a Sportsmanship Award. Personal: Born October 4, 1996….Played for the Anderson Monarchs as a youth and played for the Philadelphia Phillies’ RBI program…Hobbies include making films, music and playing video games…Double major in Urban Studies and Film at Rutgers-Camden, who plans to work in either field of his majors or a mixture of both…Skyler is the son of Sarah Glover of Barrington.
