Biography

Tommy Dolaghan joined the Rutgers-Camden pitching staff after a record-setting sophomore season at Sussex County Community College in 2016. His 10 victories not only set a Sussex single-season record, but he finished the regular season leading the nation in victories for all NJCAA Division II hurlers. In his first season with the Scarlet Raptors, Dolaghan worked in six games out of the bullpen.
 
During his first year at Rutgers-Camden, Dolaghan was a Dean’s List student and was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll during both the Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 semesters.  He added a berth on the AD’s Honor Roll during the Fall 2017 semester.
 
Baseball 2017: Made six relief appearances, working 15-1/3 innings…Three walks and 10 strikeouts…0-2 record with an 8.80 ERA…Made his first Raptor appearance in the team’s wild 14-7 loss to Endicott (March 14), allowing six hits and five earned runs in four innings, while striking out three…Hurled 1-1/3 scoreless, hitless innings at FDU-Florham (March 30), striking out three…Worked 1-2/3 innings, allowing four hits, two earned runs and one walk at William Paterson University (April 2, Game Two), striking out one…Suffered the loss in a 5-4 Raptor defeat against Rutgers-Newark (April 8, Game One), working two innings and allowing three hits and two runs (one unearned), while striking out one…Allowed nine hits and five earned runs in a 5-1/3-inning relief appearance against Ramapo College (April 15, Game One), striking out one and not allowing a walk in his longest outing of the year…Took the loss in the second game of a doubleheader at New Jersey City University (April 29), working one inning and allowing three hits, two walks and two earned runs, while striking out one.
 
Pre-Rutgers: Pitched at Sussex County Community College in 2015 and 2016…As a freshman, appeared in 13 games, starting five and posting an 0-3 record in 34 innings…Had one save and one complete game…Allowed 44 hits and 12 walks, while striking out 18 and compiling a 6.09 ERA…During his sophomore season he made 18 appearances, starting seven games and hurling 74.1 innings…Posted a 10-4 record, setting the Sussex single-season mark for victories and finishing as the regular-season national leader in all of NJCAA Division II…Added one save and three complete games…Walked 19, struck out 45 and allowed 107 hits while posting a 4.24 ERA...In two seasons, he combined to post a 10-7 record and a 4.82 ERA in 108.1 innings over 31 appearances (12 starts)…Walked 31, struck out 63 and hit six…Had two career saves.
 
High School: Graduated from High Tech High School in 2014…Earned three varsity baseball letters playing at Harrison High School for Coach Jairo Mendez, as High Tech didn’t have a team…Added one varsity basketball letter…On the baseball diamond, earned All-Conference First Team honors during both his junior and senior seasons…Was named All-State Group Two Second Team.
 
Personal: Born October 28, 1995…Thomas “Tommy” Dolaghan…Last name pronounced “Dol-a-han”… Enjoys watching movies, hanging out with friends, fishing and golfing…Childhood Studies major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to pursue a career in teaching and coach baseball…Tommy is the son of Cindy and Tom Dolaghan of Harrison.
