Biography

Outfielder Wayne Jackson completed his four-year Rutgers-Camden career in 2021, finishing with 57 games played and a .273 batting average. He had 21 RBIs and scored 15 runs as a Scarlet Raptor, while collecting eight doubles and two home runs.
 
Baseball 2021: Played in three games, starting one…Hit .200 with one RBI…Added one putout in his only defensive chance for a 1.000 fielding percentage…His RBI single in the eighth inning accounted for one of the Raptors’ three runs in an 11-3 loss at William Paterson (March 2)…Went 1-for-1 with the RBI and his lone putout of the season in that game…Started as the designated hitter at Kean (March 27, Game One) and went 0-for-3…Made his only other appearance as a pinch hitter against William Paterson (April 3), striking out in his only at bat.
 
Baseball 2019: Started 23 of his 29 games, hitting .276 with five doubles…Had seven RBIs and four runs scored…Posted a .315 on-base percentage and a .333 slugging percentage…Added five walks and one sacrifice…Collected 31 putouts and one assist in the outfield, while making one error for a .970 fielding percentage…Collected seven multi-hit games, including a 3-for-5 contest with one double and one run scored against Anderson (March 19)…That game capped a three-game hitting streak that saw him go 7-for-13 (.538), including 2-for-4 games against Springfield (March 17) and Ripon (March 18)…Also had 2-hit games against Westminster (2-for-5, one double, two RBIs) and Hamilton (2-for-4) on March 22 and 23, respectively, and went 2-for-5 against both Widener (April 9) and Ramapo (April 28)…Collected his lone assist against Johns Hopkins (March 2)…Had a season-high four putouts against Widener (April 9) and notched three-putout games against Ripon (March 18), Susquehanna (March 27) and Ramapo (April 28).
 
Baseball 2018: Appeared in 18 games, starting 13 (nine in left field and four as the designated hitter)…Compiled a .262/.404/.429 slash line…Scored 10 runs and drove home 11…Had three doubles, two triples and 10 walks…Posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with seven putouts in seven chances…Had a pair of multiple-hit games, including a 3-for-4 day with a double, a walk, three runs scored and two RBIs against FDU-Florham (March 27)…In his first appearance of the season, stroked a two-run pinch-hit single in a seven-run eighth inning as Rutgers-Camden outlasted Stevenson University, 14-9, on March 4…Went 1-for-3 with a triple, one walk, one run and one RBI against Knox College (March 16)…Went 1-for-3 with a two-run triple, two walks and one run scored in a win over Stevens Institute of Technology (April 8)…Closed the season in the nightcap of a doubleheader at St. Joseph’s-Long Island on May 11, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, three RBIs and one run.
 
Baseball 2017: Played in seven games, making one start…Hit .333 (3-for-9) with one run, two RBIs, two walks and one HBP…Had a .500 fielding percentage with one putout and one error in two chances…Had his first RBI in his first game, appearing as a pinch-hitter in the eighth inning and grounding out to shortstop to plate a run…Went 1-for-4, with a single to left field in the bottom of the fifth inning for his first collegiate hit, and added his lone putout of the season against Rutgers-Newark (April 8, Game Two)…Drew his first collegiate walk in his lone plate appearance against Ramapo College (April 15, Game Two)…Went 1-for-1 with an RBI single as a pinch-hitter against Stockton University (April 21)…Made first collegiate start, playing left field, against New Jersey City University (April 29, Game One), going 1-for-2 with one walk and one run.
 
High School: Earned four varsity letters in baseball for Coach Keith Regn at Winslow Township High School…All-Conference Second Team during his junior year…Honor Roll student…Graduated in 2016.
