Andrew Sylvestre joined the Scarlet Raptors basketball program for the 2023-24 season after playing the 2022-23 season at Essex County College.
 
Basketball 2023-24: Appeared in 13 games…Averaged 1.2 points and 0.9 rebounds…Collected six assists and three steals…Shot 5-for-13 (.385) from the field, including 1-for-5 (.200) from three-point range…Made four out of his six foul shot attempts (.667)…Made his Rutgers-Camden debut playing six minutes against Baruch (Nov. 14)…Grabbed his first Scarlet Raptor rebound against Rosemont (Nov. 16)…Scored his first three points against Stockton (Nov. 29), while also adding his first steal…Also added one steal against Rowan (Dec. 6), when he notched his high of four points and added two rebounds…Had one steal and two assists against Kean (Dec. 13)…Collected his high of five rebounds, while adding three points and two assists, against Penn State-Berks (Jan. 3).
 
Pre-Rutgers: Played the 2022-23 season at Essex County College, starting nine of his 24 games…Averaged 6.7 points and 2.3 rebounds…Added 21 assists, 20 steals and four blocks.
 
High School: Varsity basketball letterman at Irvington High School…Graduated in 2018.
 
Personal: Born May 4, 2000…Regarding hobbies and interests, he notes” I just go with the flow. Just trying new things. If it’s something to do, I’m going to do it, as long as I’m having fun with it.”…Business Management major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to become a professional basketball player…Andrew is the son of Audrine Ynot and Rony Sylvestre of Irvington.
