Biography

Cameron Downs has accomplished so much during his basketball career at Rutgers-Camden that it’s hard to believe he still has one last season to add to his legacy.

One of the program’s all-time great players, Downs will enter his senior season in 2025-26 placing eighth on the career scoring list (1,206 points) and eighth for career scoring average (16.8 points per game). He also ranks fourth in career free throws (293) seventh in free throw attempts (391) and second in free throw percentage for all players with the NCAA career minimum of 250 successful foul shots (74.9, barely shy of the program record of 75.1).

Downs has started all of his 72 games with the Scarlet Raptors, while compiling 448 rebounds, 112 assists, 97 steals and 43 blocked shots. He is a three-time All-New Jersey Athletic Conference player, was the NJAC Rookie of the Year and three-time NJAC Rookie of the Week as a freshman, has since captured two NJAC Player of the Week honors and has been recognized 11 times as Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week.
