Assistant Coach Anwar King (1st season)

Anwar King joins the Rutgers-Camden men’s basketball coaching staff this season.
A long-time coach, King has been the Head Coach at Quality Academy Prep in Willingboro for the past three years, leading his team to a 57-46 record. His extensive coaching experience started as an assistant at the Globe Institute of Technology from 2005-08, where he helped the team post a 47-13 record and win a regional championship. He served as an Associate Head Coach at the County College of Morris from 2016-19, winning back-to-back region and conference championships and posting a 49-30 record. In his one season as the Head Coach/Director of Basketball Operations at Olympus Prep, he led the team to a 16-16 record.
A multi-sport letterman at Willingboro High School, he earned four basketball letters and added one letter apiece in football and soccer. Willingboro captured two state championships during his time, while also earning one JV County Championship. He graduated from Willingboro High School in 2004.
King also played collegiate basketball on the 2008-09 New Jersey City University Gothic Knights.
King is a resident of Beverly, New Jersey.
