Coach Barry J.T. DeVine joined the Rutgers-Camden men’s basketball coaching staff for the 2019-20 season, bringing over 25 years of head basketball coaching experience at the high school, A.A.U. and college level to the Scarlet Raptors’ program. He returns for his fifth season with the Raptors this winter.
 
DeVine built the International Christian High School boys basketball program from 2004-2014. He served for 10 years as the athletic director and head coach, while leaving there as the winningest coach in the school’s history with 187 wins. He won three PJAA Championships and two NCSAA National Championships. He went on to serve as the associate head coach at Sankofa Freedom Academy, helping the team win its first PIAA state championship.

Coach DeVine has developed several current and past Division-I players, including many who are playing professional basketball overseas today. 
 
After a three-year playing career at NAIA Div. II Saint Thomas University in Miami, Florida, Barry began his coaching career at that school as a student assistant coach. He also served as Associate Head Coach at DeVry University, where his predominant role was Recruiting, Game Day Prep and Offensive Coordinator.

Barry is a teacher and Athletic Director at Cedar Grove Christian Academy, and the Founding Program Director of “G2G” (Glory to God) Elite A.A.U. Basketball in Philadelphia. He is a certified USA Basketball Coach, and his youth team represented Pennsylvania at the East Coast Jr. NBA nationals. Several times throughout the summers he conducts his PGLA (Point Guard Leadership Academy) for next-level guards looking to expand their leadership and guard play in preparation for college.

Coach DeVine currently has both a son, Kobe, and daughter, Krissi, playing college basketball. He resides in Northeast Philadelphia with his wife Shellé and daughter Kélah.
