Jourdain Blackmon returns to the Rutgers-Camden men’s basketball coaching staff for his third season. Blackmon joined the Scarlet Raptors’ staff during the 2022-23 season, bringing plenty of basketball playing and coaching experience to program.
 
A three-year varsity letterman at Timber Creek High School during his scholastic days, Blackmon earned Olympic Conference First Team recognition as a senior after averaging 15 points, eight assists, eight rebounds and four steals. He was an Al Carino All-Star and an Honorable Mention All-South Jersey player, who also captured All-Conference Second Team honors as a junior.
 
Blackmon went on to star at Clark Atlanta University from 2006-10, where he was a three-year starter at point guard. During his senior season, his team went 24-7, was ranked 17th in the nation and earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament. That same season, he finished third nationally in steals.
 
A 2011 graduate of Clark Atlanta University, Blackmon went on to earn his Master’s in Athletic Administration in 2019 from Lasell University in Newton, Massachusetts. He started his coaching career as a graduate assistant for Clark Atlanta during the 2010-11 season, helping the team post a 22-9 record, earn the SIAC championship and capture an automatic NCAA tournament berth.
 
A graduate of Timber Creek High School, he now teaches at the school and served as an Associate Head Coach for its basketball program from 2016 through August 2022. During that time, Timber Creek posted a 122-63 record, was ranked in the state at the end of each season, won numerous conference championships and captured the South Jersey and Regional Group 3 championships in 2020.
 
Blackmon also serves as a head coach at the Team Hines Basketball Academy in Sicklerville.
 
A teacher at Timber Creek High School for the past eight years, Blackmon is a resident of Sicklerville.
