Biography

After playing one season at Rowan University, Jake Petrik transferred to Rutgers-Camden and enjoyed a stellar 2019-20 year, both on and off the court. The Scarlet Raptors’ top three-point shooter, Petrik is 67-for-161 (.416) from three-point range during his 31-game career with Rutgers-Camden. He is averaging 8.5 points in his two seasons with the Scarlet Raptors, while also earning numerous academic honors.
 
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 scholastic years…Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2019 Spring, 2019 Fall, 2020 Spring, 2020 Fall and 2021 Spring semesters…Dean’s List student for the 2019 Fall semester, when he was one of only 16 athletes on the 148-member AD Honor Roll to record a perfect 4.0 GPA…Dean’s List student for the 2020 Spring semester, when he was one of 47 athletes on the 171-member AD Honor Roll to post a 4.0 GPA…Dean’s List student for the 2020 Fall semester, when he was one of only 29 athletes on the 151-member AD Honor Roll to post a 4.0 GPA...Dean's List student for the 2021 Spring semester, when he was one of only 27 athletes on the 125-member AD Honor Roll to post a 4.0 GPA.
 
Basketball 2020-21: Appeared in six games, starting his final three, during the pandemic-shortened nine-game season…Averaged 5.7 points and 1.5 rebounds…Added four assists and two steals…Led the Raptors in three-point field goal percentage (.421), making eight treys in 19 attempts…Shot 11-for-28 overall (.393) and was 4-for-6 (.667) from the foul line…Scored six points against The College of New Jersey (Feb. 12) in his first game of the season…Scored his season high of eight points on two occasions, coming against Stockton (Feb. 19) and New Jersey City (March 5).
 
Basketball 2019-20: Played in all 25 Rutgers-Camden games, starting 24…NJAC Academic Honorable Mention…Finished third on the team in scoring (9.2 points per game)…Led the club with 59 three-point field goals, shooting a team-high 59-for-142 (.415) from three-point range…His .415 three-point percentage is the 12th-highest single-season mark in program history and his 59 treys rank 11th on the season charts…Averaged 2.2 rebounds and added 20 assists, seven steals and one blocked shot…Overall, shot 76-for-184 (.413) from the floor and 18-for-21 (.857) from the foul line…Scored in double figures 12 times, including a high of 24 points against his former school, Rowan, on Jan. 22…In that game, shot 7-for-16 overall, including 5-for-11 from three-point range, and also added two assists and his season high of seven rebounds…Made his Rutgers-Camden debut in the season opener at Arcadia (Nov. 9)…Collected his first Rutgers-Camden points (14), steals (2) and rebounds (6) against Rosemont (Nov. 10)…Had his season high of three assists, while adding 10 points and three rebounds, at City College of New York (Nov. 23)…Scored 13 points in his first meeting against Rowan (Nov. 26), adding two rebounds…Shot 4-for-8 from three-point range to score 12 points against both Baruch (Dec. 9) and Ramapo (Jan. 8)…Scored in double figures in five out of six games from Jan. 29 through Feb. 15, shooting 19-for-40 (.475) from three-point range over that stretch…Included in that run was a 14-point game at Rutgers-Newark (Feb. 8), where he shot 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and a 12-point game against New Jersey City (Feb. 15) which was keyed by 4-for-8 three-point shooting…Added four rebounds, one assist and one steal in the NJCU contest.
 
Pre-Rutgers: Played at Rowan University during the 2017-18 campaign…Played in seven games, averaging 1.1 minutes, 0-4 points and 0.3 rebounds.
