Biography

A transfer from Northern Vermont University, Jaymes Savage started all 56 games Rutgers-Camden played in his career, averaging 5.9 points and 5.3 rebounds…He collected 162 career assists (12th on the program’s all-time list) and added 85 steals. Savage also earned numerous academic honors during his time at Rutgers-Camden.

Basketball 2022-23: Started all 25 Rutgers-Camden games…Averaged 6.1 points and a team-leading 6.0 rebounds…Led the team with 58 assists and 42 steals…Finished second on the team with eight blocked shots…Shot .452 (57-for-126) from the floor and .594 (38-for-64) from the foul line…Collected a double-double against William Paterson (Feb. 11) with a season-high 14 points and a career-high 15 rebounds…Scored in double figures on five occasions, starting with the Raptors’ season opener against Cabrini (Nov. 9), when he notched 11 points…Also notched 13 points against Delaware Valley (Nov. 16), 12 against FDU-Florham (Nov. 27) and 10 against Montclair State (Jan. 21), in addition to his big game against William Paterson on Feb. 11…Had a career-high three blocked shots in the Delaware Valley Game and finished one rebound shy of a double-double…His 15 rebounds against Paterson marked his fourth game of the season with double-digit rebounds, including 11 against Rowan (Dec. 7) and 10 apiece against Baruch (Dec. 30) and in the second meeting against Rowan (Feb. 1)…Collected four assists on four occasions and had four steals in two games.
 
Basketball 2021-22: Started all 22 Rutgers-Camden games…Led the team with 78 assists and 31 steals…Second on the team in rebounding (4.1 rpg)…Averaged 5.1 points…Blocked three shots…Shot 42-for-106 (.396) from the floor and 25-for-46 (.543) from the foul line…Scored in double figures on four occasions, with a high of 14 points (5-for-7 from the floor, including one trey, and 3-for-3 from the foul line) against SUNY-Geneseo (Nov. 19)…Also scored 12 points against Ramapo (Feb. 16) and 11 apiece against Montclair State (Feb. 5) and Kean (Feb. 12)…Set career highs with nine assists and six steals against New Jersey City (Jan. 22)  and tied that assist mark of nine against Kean (Feb. 12)…Had 12 games with three or more assists, including nine with at least four assists…Added seven points and eight rebounds in the NJCU game Jan. 22 and also had eight boards against MCLA (Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts) on Nov. 20.
 
Basketball 2020-21: Started all nine of the Rutgers-Camden games in the pandemic-shortened season…Led the team in rebounding with an average of 6.4 per game…Finished third in scoring at 7.6 per game…Had a team-high 26 assists and 12 steals…Tied for the club lead with two blocked shots…Finished second on the team in field goal percentage (.400), shooting 24-for-60…Shot 18-for-38 (.474) from the foul line…Named Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week on March 1…Made his Rutgers-Camden debut at Rutgers-Newark (Feb. 5), collecting six rebounds and adding four points and three assists...Had four games with four or more assists, including a high of five against William Paterson (Feb. 27), when he collected his first Raptor double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds…Notched eight rebounds against Stockton (Feb. 20) and nine against New Jersey City (March 5)…Scored his high of 19 points in the first meeting with William Paterson (Feb. 26), shooting 8-for-13 from the floor and 3-for-4 at the foul line, while adding four assists and four rebounds.
 
Pre-Rutgers: Played his freshman collegiate season (2019-20) at Northern Vermont University in Johnson, Vermont…Earned North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week honors on Nov. 11 after being named to the NVU Tip-Off Classic All-Tournament Team during the first two games of his collegiate career…Had 12 points and six rebounds in the Badgers’ season opener against MCLA (Nov. 8) and added 17 points and four rebounds the next day against Vermont Technical College…For the season, started all 26 of his team’s games. averaging 6.0 points and 3.8 points…Notched 36 assists and 30 steals…Had a field goal percentage of .426 (58-for-136) and shot .534 from the foul line (39-for-73).
