Biography
A transfer from Alvernia University, Matt O’Keefe played the first semester of the 2013-14 season with the Crusaders before returning to New Jersey to enroll at Rutgers-Camden. His split freshman season was cut short due to injuries, but he returns for his first full season at Rutgers-Camden this winter.
Basketball 2013-14: Played in seven games, starting five…Averaged 1.9 points and 1.3 rebounds…Added three blocked shots, one steal and one assist…Shot a perfect 3-for-3 from the foul line…Made his Scarlet Raptor debut against Rutgers-Newark (Jan. 6), collecting his Raptor high of four points and adding two rebounds in 26 minutes…Notched his Rutgers-Camden highs of three rebounds and one assist against Kean University (Jan. 11), adding three points…Blocked two shots against Moravian College (Jan. 13) while adding two points…Had his lone steal of the season against Rutgers-Newark in the second meeting of the season (Jan. 22)…Also had two points and two rebounds in that game.
Pre-Rutgers: Played in seven early-season games at Alvernia University during the fall 2013 semester, averaging 5.1 minutes…Scored four points (0.6 ppg) and grabbed nine rebounds (1.3 rpg)…Added one steal.
High School: Three-year basketball letterman at Paul VI High School for Coach Tony Devlin…Helped team capture a pair of divisional championships…Won Coaches Award…Earned All-Conference Second Team honors.
