Biography

After playing at the Cumberland campus of Rowan College of South Jersey as a freshman, Rich Santos started all 25 games for the Rutgers-Camden basketball program during the 2022-23 season. He also earned numerous academic honors at Rutgers-Camden.
 
Academics: Dean’s List student and a member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2022 Fall and 2023 Spring semesters…One of only 25 athletes on the 133-member 2022 Fall AD Honor Roll to post a perfect 4.0 GPA…One of only 21 athletes on the 106-member 2023 Spring AD Honor Roll to earn a 4.0 GPA.
 
Basketball 2022-23: Started all 25 games for the Scarlet Raptors…Averaged 5.5 points and 2.1 rebounds…Added 21 assists, 17 steals and five blocked shots…Shot .434 (53-for-122) from the floor, including 17-for-50 (.340) from three-point range…Shot 14-for-21 (.667) from the foul line…Made his Rutgers-Camden debut in the season opener at Cabrini (Nov. 9), collecting five points, two assists, one steal and his season high of eight rebounds…Collected four straight games with double-digit figures in his next four outings, with 11 points against both Saint Elizabeth (Nov. 12) and Delaware Valley (Nov. 16), a season-high 15 at Bryn Athyn (Nov. 19) and 10 against The College of New Jersey (Nov. 22)…Also had a double-digit scoring output with 12 against William Paterson (Jan. 14)…Had a season high of five assists at Kean (Jan. 4)…Collected two steals on four occasions and had one blocked shot in five different games.
 
Pre-Rutgers: Played the 2021-22 season at Rowan College of South Jersey-Cumberland, starting all 24 of his games…Scored 384 points, averaging 16.0 points per game…Averaged 6.0 rebounds and added 31 assists, 14 steals and 11 blocked shots…Scored a career-high 34 points against Salem (Nov. 30)…Named to the All-Garden State Athletic Conference Third Team.
