Biography

Tristan Cornish has been one of the key players on the Scarlet Raptors during his two seasons with the Rutgers-Camden basketball program, leading all regulars in field goal percentage both seasons. He has played in all 31 Raptor games during that span, starting 29, while also has adding academic honors.
 
Over his two seasons, Cornish is averaging 8.4 points and 4.1 rebounds.
 
Academics: Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2020 Fall and 2021 Spring semesters…Dean’s List student.
 
Basketball 2021-22: Started all 22 games…Led the team in scoring (9.5 ppg) and rebounding (4.4 rpg)…Shot 82-for-170 from the floor to lead all regulars with a .482 shooting percentage…Shot 9-for-35 (.257) from three-point range and 36-for-54 (.667) from the foul line…Added 17 assists (sixth on the team), 12 steals (fourth) and six blocked shots (second )…Named Rutgers-Camden Raptor of the Week Jan. 17…Scored in double figures on 12 occasions, including a career high of 19 against Kean (Jan. 15), sparked by 9-for-12 shooting from the floor, including one trey…Scored 16 points against Kean (Feb. 12), while adding seven rebounds…Collected four 14-point games, coming twice against New Jersey City (Dec. 4 and Jan. 22) and once apiece against Rowan (Feb. 2) and Montclair State (Feb. 5) in back-to-back games…Added a career-high eight rebounds in the Rowan game…In the Jan. 22 NJCU game, shot a perfect 8-for-8 from the foul line…Dished off three assists against both Cabrini (Nov. 11) and Kean (Feb. 12) to establish career highs.
 
Basketball 2020-21: Played in all nine Rutgers-Camden games, starting seven in the pandemic-shortened season…Led the team in field goal percentage (.455, 20-for-44) and free throw percentage (.714, 5-for-7), while finishing second in three-point field goal percentage (.417, 5-for-12)…Averaged 5.6 points and 3.6 rebounds…Had eight steals and five assists…Made his collegiate debut on Feb. 5 at Rutgers-Newark, scoring three points and adding five rebounds and one assist…Had his first start against The College of New Jersey (Feb. 12), collecting three points, one rebound, one assist and his first collegiate steal…Scored eight points in back-to-back games against Stockton (Feb. 20) and William Paterson (Feb. 26), while adding his season high of seven rebounds in the Paterson game…In his second game against William Paterson (Feb. 27), netted his season high of 10 points, while adding four rebounds.
