Biography

One of the most prolific scorers in Rutgers-Camden men’s soccer history, Skyler Diggs captured four All-New Jersey Athletic Conference honors, including First Team recognition for the pandemic-shortened 2020 season. He appeared in 88 career games as a Scarlet Raptor, starting all 65 of his contests the last four seasons and making 67 career starts overall. With 41 career goals, Diggs tied for fourth on the program’s all-time list. He is third with 14 career game-winning goals and his 87 points rank sixth on the program’s all-time list.

Soccer 2021: Named to United Soccer Coaches All-Region IV Third Team...New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team…Started all 18 of his games…Led the team in goals (9) and points (18)…Took 55 shots, 23 on goal…Collected his third career hat trick with a three-goal performance in a 4-1 win over New Jersey City University (Oct. 16)…That game was one of two contests in which he scored the game-winning goal, with the first being a 2-1 victory over Ramapo College (Oct. 9)…Notched two goals in a 7-0 win over Gwynedd Mercy (Sept. 5)…Scored the lone Raptor goal in a 1-1 tie at Cabrini (Sept. 15)…Also scored the Raptors’ lone goal in a 2-1 loss at Kean (Sept. 25)…Collected his final career goal in a 2-1 win at Rutgers-Newark (Sept. 23)…Took six shots in a game on four occasions, coming against Gwynedd Mercy, Ramapo, New Jersey City and Rutgers-Newark…In the NJCU game, all six shots were on goal.
 
Soccer 2020: Captured New Jersey Athletic Conference First Team honors…Started all seven games during Rutgers-Camden’s short pandemic-altered season, which was played during the 2021 spring semester…Led the team with four goals, eight points, 27 shots and 10 shots on goal…Tied for the team lead with one game-winning goal…Scored a goal in the Raptors’ first three games, including a season-opening 1-1 tie against eventual conference champion Ramapo (March 10), when he was taken down in the box in the second half and scored the equalizer on a penalty kick…He was a force all day in that game, taking 10 shots (five on goal) while playing the entire 110 minutes…Played all 90 minutes and scored a goal during a 3-2 loss to William Paterson (March 13)…Collected the game-winning goal during a 2-0 victory at New Jersey City (March 17), which gave Head Coach Tim Oswald his 200th career win at Rutgers-Camden…Also scored the first goal in the Raptors’ 2-1 win at Stockton (April 7) during the NJAC quarterfinals.
 
Soccer 2019: Started all 20 of his games…Led the team in goals (12), points (25), game-winning goals (6) and shots (66)…Added one assist…Tied for the team lead with 28 shots on goal to post a .424 shots-on-goal percentage…New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team…United Soccer Coaches Div. III All-South Atlantic Region Second Team…Named the Offensive MVP of the Cialella Soccer Classic (Sept. 7-8)…Captured two honors as Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week (Sept. 9 and Oct. 28)…His six game-winning goals tied for the third-highest single-season total in program history…Collected one goal and one assist in his first game of the season, a 5-1 victory over Mount St. Vincent (Aug. 31)…Accounted for all of the Scarlet Raptors’ scoring in the next two games, a 1-0 win over Alvernia (Sept. 4) and a 2-0 win over the College of Staten Island (Sept. 7), producing the game-winning goals and posting a two-goal game against Staten Island…Scored a goal during a 5-3 win over Cabrini (Sept. 11), hiking his season scoring total to five goals in five games…Had the game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory over Immaculata (Sept. 18) and a 2-0 win over Montclair State (Sept. 21)…Added a goal against Haverford in a 3-2 Raptor win Sept. 25…His goal in a 2-0 win over New Jersey City University (Oct. 5) proved to be the game winner…Scored all three goals in a 3-2 win over Penn State-Abington (Oct. 23) on a season high eight shots to produce his sixth game-winning tally of the year…That hat trick was the second of his career, with the first coming in 2017 against Lancaster Bible…Played a season-high 95 minutes in the Haverford game (Sept. 25)…Appeared in eight of the Raptors’ nine team shutouts.
 
Soccer 2018: New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team…Started all 20 of his games…Led the team with nine goals, three game-winning goals and 21 points…Tied for second on the team with three assists…Second on the team with 42 shots and 26 shots on goal…Scored the Raptors’ second goal of the campaign during a 3-2 season-opening win over New York University (Aug. 31)…Notched the game-winning goal the next day in a 2-0 victory over Old Westbury (Sept. 1)…Collected one goal and one assist in a 3-1 win over Staten Island (Sept. 8)…Notched two goals, including the game winner, in a 4-0 victory over Immaculata (Sept. 20)…Collected an assist during a 2-0 win over New Jersey City University (Sept. 29)…Scored goals in back-to-back games against The College of New Jersey (Oct. 2, a 3-1 win) and Penn State-Abington (Oct. 4, the game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory)…Assisted on the Raptors’ goal in a 1-1 tie at Ramapo College (Oct. 13)…Collected his final two goals of the season in a 3-1 win over William Paterson (Oct. 20)…Had four shots in a game on five occasions.
 
Soccer 2017: Appeared in 23 of the Scarlet Raptors’ 24 games, starting two…Notched seven goals to tie Clayton Taylor for the team lead…Also tied with Taylor for second on the team in points (15) and game-winning goals (2)…Took 31 shots, 15 on goal for a .484 percentage…Named New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week (Sept. 4) after he scored two goals, including the game winner, during a 6-2 victory over Keystone College (Sept. 2)…That performance came in his second collegiate game after he made his debut against Lycoming College on Sept. 1…Made his first collegiate start in a 3-3 tie against Frostburg State University (Sept. 9)…Collected a goal in a 5-1 win against Cabrini University (Sept. 13) and notched the game-winning tally in a 2-1 victory over Penn State-Abington (Oct. 1)…Exploded for a hat trick and added an assist for seven points during a 7-1 victory at Lancaster Bible College (Oct. 19)…Made his second collegiate start as the Scarlet Raptors won their first game in the ECAC Division III Men’s Soccer Championship with a 2-1 win over Maritime College (Nov. 11).
