Biography

One of the Scarlet Raptors’ team tri-captains, center back Bobby Andrews has earned all-conference honors on the soccer pitch and in the classroom in his two seasons at Rutgers-Camden. Andrews also was a star for Rowan College at Gloucester County prior to transferring to Rutgers-Camden.
 
In his two years with the Scarlet Raptors, Andrews has started 23 of his 27 games, including six of the seven that Rutgers-Camden played in the brief pandemic-altered 2020 season. He has taken 19 shots as a Scarlet Raptor and has helped the Scarlet Raptors post 10 shutouts in his career.
 
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 scholastic years…Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2019 Fall, 2020 Spring, 2020 Fall and 2021 Spring semesters…Dean’s List student.
 
Soccer 2020: In a shortened season switched to the 2021 spring semester due to the pandemic, started six of the team’s seven games while appearing in every game…Took one shot, coming at Stockton (April 7) in the New Jersey Athletic Conference playoffs…Helped Rutgers-Camden notch one shutout and hold its opponent to one goal on three other occasions…Played all 90 minutes against both William Paterson (March 13) and Stockton (March 20)…Took his lone shot in a NJAC playoff game at Stockton (April 7).
 
Soccer 2019: Appeared in 20 games, starting 17…Took 18 shots, with five on goal for a .278 percentage…Named New Jersey Athletic Conference Honorable Mention…Added NJAC Academic Honorable Mention…Earned Defensive MVP honors at the Cialella Soccer Classic (Sept. 7-8)…Named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 23)…Added honors as Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week (Sept. 23)…Anchored a defense that posted a 1.05 goals-against average and nine shutouts…Came off the bench in his first three games, including a season-opening 1-0 win over Carthage (Aug. 30), before starting the rest of his 17 games…Made his first start and played 83 minutes in a 2-0 shutout over the College of Staten Island (Sept. 7)…Played the entire 90 minutes in a 1-0 loss against nationally-ranked Cortland (Sept. 8) at the Cialella Soccer Classic…Went on to play the entire game in 12 contests, including all 110 minutes in ties against Kean (Sept. 28), William Paterson (Oct. 26) and Stockton (Nov. 2)…Took his season high of five shots in the Stockton game.
 
Pre-Rutgers: Played for the Rowan College at Gloucester County Roadrunners in 2017 and 2018…Started all 29 of his games at RCGC, including all 17 as a freshman, when he notched two goals and two assists for six points…Both of his goals were game winners, coming against Delaware County (Sept. 5) and Morris (Sept. 23)…His two assists came against Brookdale (Sept. 30)…Two-time All-Garden State Athletic Conference…Two-time team captain.
 
High School:  Four-year varsity starter for the Delsea Regional High School soccer team, playing for Coach Tom Freeman, a former Rutgers-Camden star, and Coach Brian Lindsey…Three-time All-Conference First Team…Also earned one All-South Jersey Second Team and one All-State Second Team honor…Accepted into NJ STARS program…Graduated in 2017.
