Rutgers-Camden Athletics

A transfer to Rutgers-Camden who attended both Saint Peter’s University and Mercer County Community College, Christian Aguirre returns for his second season with the Scarlet Raptors’ soccer program this fall.
 
Soccer 2014: Appeared in five games…Took two shots, one on goal…Made Raptor debut in a 2-1 victory over Drew University (Sept. 6) in the opener of the Cialella Soccer Classic…Contributed his season high of 20 minutes during a 4-0 shutout over Susquehanna University the next day, taking one shot (on goal) as the Scarlet Raptors won the Cialella Soccer Classic…Also played in a 3-1 win over Eastern University (Sept. 10), a 7-3 loss to Haverford College (Oct. 6) and a 2-1 victory over Sage Colleges (Nov. 12) in the opener of the ECAC Metro/Upstate tournament, which the Raptors eventually won.
 
Pre-Rutgers: Attended both Saint Peter’s University and Mercer County Community College…Earned a soccer letter at Mercer in 2013, playing in 16 games and starting 15…Notched his lone point with an assist against Globe in a 6-0 win Sept. 7, 2013.
 
High School: Four-year soccer starter at Hightstown High School for Coach Tim Kalick…First Team All-State.
 
Personal: Last name pronounced “a-GEAR-ee”…Born November 30, 1993…Club team LSTS Madrid won three national Futsal championships…Criminal Justice major at Rutgers-Camden with a minor in Sociology…Post-graduation plans are to “acquire a job, get a dog and move into the city”…Christian is the son of Fausto and Aida Aguirre of East Windsor.
