A major cog in the Scarlet Raptors’ success the past four years, Bill Pinto enters his fifth season as a Rutgers-Camden assistant coach and has experienced championship soccer every season with the Scarlet Raptors.

During his first season in 2010, Pinto helped Rutgers-Camden capture the ECAC Metro/Upstate championship. In 2011, he played a big role as the Scarlet Raptors posted their best season in program history at that point, going 19-3-2, winning their first New Jersey Athletic Conference crown, advancing to the NCAA Elite Eight and finishing ranked No. 5 in the NSCAA and No. 8 in the D3soccer.com Division III polls.

The 2012 campaign brought a 17-2-3 record, another NJAC title, two more NCAA games and another Top 20 national ranking in both polls.

Pinto’s fourth year with the program was a magical season in 2013. Not only did the Scarlet Raptors notch their third straight NJAC title, but they advanced all the way to the NCAA championship game, posted a program-best 23-1-2 record and finished as the second-ranked team in the nation.

Pinto’s coaching career comes on the heels of his outstanding collegiate soccer career at Hofstra University. As a senior midfielder in 2009, he started nine of his 16 games and collected one assist. Throughout his four-year career with the Pride, Pinto appeared in 57 games, started 21 and collected two assists.

An outstanding student as well, Pinto received the Colonial Athletic Association Commissioner’s Academic Award four times.

Pinto graduated from Hofstra University in May 2010 with a degree in Mathematics.

A soccer letterman at St. Augustine College Prep in Richland, New Jersey, Pinto led the team in scoring as a junior to lead the Hermits to the Parochial A state championship. He earned All-State Second Team honors as a senior and added First Team All-Parochial and First Team All-Conference. He also was named the team MVP and was recognized on the Atlantic City Press First Team and the All-South Jersey Second Team during his senior season in 2004.

A President’s Honor Roll student throughout his high school career, Pinto was a member of the National and Spanish Honor Society.
