Dan McGarry joined the Rutgers-Camden coaching staff just in time to contribute to the finest season in program history. In his first year with the Scarlet Raptors, Rutgers-Camden posted a 23-1-2 record, won its third straight New Jersey Athletic Conference title, advanced to the NCAA Division III championship game and finished with a No. 2 national ranking.

McGarry was selected to the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) First Team during both his freshman and sophomore seasons at Arcadia University in 2004 and 2005. He also was named to the regional All-America team both seasons. He helped Arcadia win the PAC title and reach the third round of the NCAA Division III Tournament as a freshman. As a sophomore, he started 17 of his 18 games and produced eight goals and two assists for 18 points. One of those goals came on Rutgers-Camden’s own field as he led Arcadia to a 4-0 victory in the championship game of the 2005 Cialella Soccer Classic.

McGarry transferred to Liberty University with a full athletic scholarship to complete his collegiate career, earning All-Big South honors both seasons and helping the Flames win a conference championship.

McGarry played PDL soccer for the Fredericksburg Gunners and was selected to the USL combine, where he signed with the Western Mass Pioneers. He also played two years of professional soccer in Germany with the Wurzburg Kickers and Grun Weiss Wolfen.
