Biography

Eric Cutry blossomed from a very good player into an all-conference star during his third season with the Rutgers-Camden men’s soccer team in 2013, helping the Scarlet Raptors to a program-best 23-1-2 season, a third straight New Jersey Athletic Conference title and a berth in the NCAA Division III championship game. The team finished ranked second nationally in both the NSCAA and D3soccer.com polls.
 
A midfielder who switched to back midway through the 2013 season and provided shutdown defense, Cutry has appeared in 68 career games, starting 29. He owns four goals and five assists for 13 career points.
 
Cutry will serve as a team tri-captain in 2014.
 
Soccer 2013: Played in 25 of the Scarlet Raptors’ 26 games, starting 20…Took 18 shots and collected two goals and two assists for six points…Earned NJAC Honorable Mention…Notched the game-winning goal in a 5-0 win over Arcadia University (Sept. 8) and scored the first goal in a 2-1 win over Richard Stockton College (Oct. 9)…Switched to marking back and helped the Raptors collect a 0-0 tie in a battle against nationally-ranked Montclair State University (Oct. 12)…Earned honors as Rutgers-Camden’s Raptor of the Week on Oct. 14…Collected assists in back-to-back games, a 4-1 win over Ramapo College (Oct. 26) and a 5-0 victory over New Jersey City University (Oct. 30)…Helped Raptors tie a program record with 12 shutouts and notch the fifth-best goals-against average (0.75) in program history.
 
Soccer 2012: Played in all 22 games for the Scarlet Raptors, starting five…Took 11 shots and tallied one goal and one assist for three points…Helped team post 11 shutouts (one shy of the school record) and compile the fourth-best goals-against average (0.74) in program history…Scored his lone goal of the season in a 4-0 victory at Cabrini College (Sept. 5)…Made his first start of the year against Kean University (Sept. 22) as the Raptors posted a 4-1 win…Also started the team’s next three games, which included a 2-0 win over The College of New Jersey (Sept. 26), a 4-3 loss at Montclair State (Sept. 29) and a 3-0 shutout over Cairn University (Oct. 1)…Played a role in a record-setting 5-0 win at New Jersey City University (Oct. 24) in which the Scarlet Raptors scored four goals in a 2:46 span: he assisted on a goal by Mitch Grotti that broke a scoreless deadlock at 52:21 and started the quick four-goal explosion…That shutout sparked a five-game season-ending span in which the Scarlet Raptors allowed only one goal, coming in a 3-1 victory against Rutgers-Newark (Nov. 2) in the NJAC semifinals.
 
Soccer 2011: Appeared in 21 of the Raptors’ 24 games, starting four times…Helped team win its first NJAC title in program history, advance to the NCAA Elite Eight and tie the team record with a 17-game unbeaten streak (15-0-2)…Tied for eighth on the team in scoring with four points (one goal, two assists)…Took 18 shots…Made collegiate debut in the season-opening 1-0 win against Widener University (Sept. 3)…Made first career start in a 3-0 victory over Cabrini College (Sept. 7)…Also started 3-1 wins over Rutgers-Newark (Sept. 17) and Montclair State University (Oct. 8) and a 3-2 double-overtime victory at Catholic University (Sept. 19)…Appeared in nine of the Scarlet Raptors’ 11 shutouts, contributing to the second-best goals-against average (0.69) in program history…Notched first career point when he sprung Mitch Grotti for a breakaway goal to complete his hat trick in a 3-1 win over Kean University (Sept. 24)…Scored his first goal four days later, notching the tying tally in a 1-1 deadlock at The College of New Jersey…Assisted on the game-winning goal by Joe Auleta, which broke a 1-1 tie and lifted the Raptors to a 3-1 victory over Montclair State University (Oct. 8).
 
High School: Captured three soccer letters and one lacrosse letter at Shawnee High School…Earned Olympic Conference Patriot Division Second Team honors as a junior, playing for Coach Brian Gibney.
