Rutgers-Camden Athletics

One of the top players in the New Jersey Athletic Conference and in Region IV during his three-year career at Rutgers-Camden, Eric Swen has captured three All-NJAC honors, including First Team recognition twice, while also earning United Soccer Coaches All-Region IV Second Team honors twice. Swen has played in 62 games during his Raptor career, starting 60. He helped the team post 26 shutouts and scored six goals, including three game winners.
 
After spending his first three seasons as an elite centerback who occasionally played up top, Swen will concentrate his talents as a forward this season.
 
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention for the 2023-24 scholastic year…Member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2022 Fall, 2023 Spring, 2023 Fall and 2024 Fall semesters…Dean’s List student…One of only 22 athletes on the 151-member 2023 Fall AD Honor Roll to earn a perfect 4.0 GPA.
 
Soccer 2024: United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III All-Region IV Second Team…NJAC First Team…Served as one of the Raptors’ four team captains…Started all 21 games for Rutgers-Camden…Scored two goals for four points, with both goals being game winners…Took 16 shots, seven on goal…Scored the game-winning goal at 33:56 in a 1-0 victory over Haverford (Aug. 31)…Notched the game-winning goal at 48:41 in a 1-0 win against Rutgers-Newark (Nov. 2) in the first round of the NJAC playoffs…Helped the Scarlet Raptors post nine shutouts and a 0.76 goals-against average…Took his season high of four shots in a 1-0 loss at Kean (Oct. 26).
 
Soccer 2023: Recognized as the New Jersey Athletic Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year…Named to the NJAC First Team…United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III All-Region IV Second Team honoree…Played in all 19 Rutgers-Camden games, starting all except the season opener, a 4-0 win over Arcadia (Sept. 1)…Helped the team post eight shutouts and hold opponents to one goal on four other occasions…Added four goals, including a game winner in a 1-0 victory over Penn State-Abington (Sept. 20), for eight total points…Took 24 shots, with 14 on goal…Scored his first two goals of the season during a wild 5-4 win at Immaculata (Sept. 18)…Notched the lone Raptor goal in a 2-1 loss at The College of New Jersey (Oct. 25).
 
Soccer 2022: New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team…Appeared in all 22 Rutgers-Camden games, starting all of them except the season opener at Arcadia (Sept. 1)…Took nine shots, three on goal…Helped Rutgers-Camden post nine shutouts and a 1.22 goals-against average…Made his first start in a 3-0 loss at Swarthmore (Sept. 4)…Helped team produce its first shutout of the season in a scoreless deadlock with Stevenson (Sept. 11)…Anchored a defense that produced four straight shutouts from Oct. 19-29 and three straight shutouts from Sept. 28-Oct. 8…Took his season high of two shots in a 2-0 win over Wilkes (Sept. 17).
