Rutgers-Camden Athletics

A valuable starter in the Rutgers-Camden midfield, Franco Burset also has captured numerous academic honors while compiling a 4.0 GPA in three of his four collegiate semesters.
 
Burset has played in 13 games during his brief career, starting eight and collecting one assist.
 
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention for the 2020-21 scholastic year…Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and Dean’s List student for the 2019 Fall, 2020 Spring, 2020 Fall and 2021 Spring semesters…One of 47 athletes on the 171-member 2020 Spring AD Honor Roll to record a perfect 4.0 GPA…One of 29 athletes on the 151-member 2020 Fall AD Honor Roll to record a perfect 4.0 GPA…One of only 27 athletes on the 125-member 2021 Spring AD Honor Roll to post a perfect 4.0 GPA.
 
Soccer 2020: In a shortened season switched to March, 2021 due to the pandemic, he appeared in all seven Rutgers-Camden games, starting six…Took three shots…Started all five regular-season games, including the season opener against Ramapo (March 10), when he took one shot and played his high of 81 minutes in a 1-1 tie…Also took one shot in a 1-0 loss at Stockton (March 20) while playing 68 minutes…In his lone game off the bench, played 46 minutes and took one shot in a 2-1 win at Stockton (April 7) in the New Jersey Athletic Conference quarterfinals...Started the NJAC semifinal game at Montclair State (April 10), playing 31 minutes in a 3-1 loss.
 
Soccer 2019: Appeared in six games, starting two…Collected one assist for one point…Took one shot…Made his collegiate debut by starting and playing his season high of 34 minutes during a 1-0 season-opening win against Carthage (Aug. 30)…Notched an assist on the game-winning goal by Luis Rivadeneira during a 5-1 victory over Mount St Vincent (Aug. 31)…Made his second start and played 24 minutes during a 2-0 win over the College of Staten Island (Sept. 7)…Took his lone shot in a 1-0 overtime loss against Misericordia (Sept. 14)…Overall, played in three of the nine shutouts registered by Rutgers-Camden.
 
High School: Graduated from Instituto Dr. Dalmacio Velez Sarsfield in 2017…Attended both C.A. Chicago and C.A. Huracan in Argentina.
