Rutgers-Camden Athletics

Marcial Islas-Marroquin stepped into a starting role during his sophomore year at Rutgers-Camden and continued playing a key defensive role as a junior. He returns for his fourth season with the Scarlet Raptors this fall.
 
Islas-Marroquin has played 41 games, starting 28, during his three seasons at Rutgers-Camden.
 
Soccer 2018: Appeared in 20 games, starting 14…Collected one assist…Played in all seven Rutgers-Camden shutouts, starting five…After coming off the bench in his first four games, started 14 of his final 16 contests…Started his first game of the season against No. 8-ranked Emory (Sept. 9) and played 86 minutes in a 2-1 loss…Played the full 90 minutes in a 1-0 loss at Cabrini (Sept. 12)…Notched his lone assist in a 3-1 win over William Paterson (Oct. 20).
 
Soccer 2017: Played in 19 games, starting 14…Notched one assist and took one shot…Started both of the Scarlet Raptors’ shutouts during the season…Also started eight games where the opponent was limited to one goal…Made his season debut and took his lone shot of the year against Keystone College (Sept. 2), during the Raptors’ 6-2 victory…Made his first start and played 57 minutes in a 3-1 win over Misericordia University (Sept. 19)…Started 13 of his final 14 games, beginning with a 1-1 tie against The College of New Jersey (Sept. 27), during which he played the entire 110 minutes…Played the entire 90 minutes and collected his first collegiate point during a 2-1 win over Ramapo College (Sept. 30), assisting on the first goal of the game by Aaron Muse…Started all four post-season games as the Scarlet Raptors advanced to the title game of the ECAC Division III Men’s Soccer Championship (Nov. 19 at Lebanon Valley College).
 
Soccer 2016: Played in two games as a Rutgers-Camden freshman…Made his collegiate debut playing 22 minutes during a 4-0 win over Farmingdale State (Sept. 10)…Also played 10 minutes in a 5-1 win at New Jersey City University (Oct. 8).
 
High School: Four-year varsity soccer letterwinner at Bridgeton High School for Coach Jimmy Connor…Graduated in 2016…Named Bridgeton team MVP as a junior and senior…National Honor Society.
