A big, strong defender, Mario LaMorte contributed to six shutouts during his freshman season at Rutgers-Camden. A fine student as well, he was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for both the Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 semesters.

Soccer 2016: Appeared in 15 games, starting six…Contributed to six shutouts, starting four of those games…Made his collegiate debut playing 27 minutes during a 3-3 tie against St. Mary’s (Sept. 2) in the season opener…Played 88 minutes during a 1-0 double-overtime win against Alvernia (Sept. 7)…Made his first start during the Scarlet Raptors’ 4-0 shutout over Farmingdale State (Sept. 10)…Also started a 1-0 win over Cabrini (Sept. 14), a 3-0 victory over Rutgers-Newark (Sept. 17) and a 1-0 triumph over The College New Jersey (Sept. 28).

High School: Captured three varsity letters at Cherokee High School for Coach Glenn Thomsen…During his senior season earned First Team All-Olympic Conference, First Team All-Burlington County, Third Team All-South Jersey and Third Team All-State honors…Served as the Chiefs’ team captain…Graduated in 2016.
