Rutgers-Camden Athletics

During his two years at Rutgers-Camden, Michael Funaro has established himself as one of the top outside backs in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. An all-conference player as a freshman, Funaro appeared in 42 of the 43 games the Scarlet Raptors played over that span, starting 41. He notched two assists each season.
 
Soccer 2019: Started all 20 of his games…Collected two assists for two points…Took eight shots, one on goal…Helped anchor a defense that posted a 1.05 goals-against average and nine shutouts…Played the complete game in 18 contests, including a trio of 110-minute ties against Kean (Sept. 28), William Paterson (Oct. 26) and Stockton (Nov. 2)…Notched an assist during the Raptors’ 5-1 victory over Mount St. Vincent (Aug. 31)…Collected his other assist during a 5-3 win against Cabrini (Sept. 11)…Took two shots in both the Cabrini and King’s College (Oct. 8) games.
 
Soccer 2018: New Jersey Athletic Conference Honorable Mention…Played in all 22 games, starting 21…Collected two assists…Took eight shots, three on goal…Played every minute in 14 games, including all 110 minutes in 1-1 overtime draws against Alvernia (Sept. 5) and Ramapo (Oct. 13)…Helped the Scarlet Raptors post seven shutouts and a 0.89 goals-against average…Started and played all 90 minutes in a 3-2 season-opening win over New York University (Aug. 31), collecting his first career assist on the Raptors’ second goal, scored by Skyler Diggs…Also notched an assist on a goal by Diggs in a 3-1 win over William Paterson (Oct. 20)…Helped the Scarlet Raptors post seven shutouts and a 0.89 goals-against average.
 
High School:  Four-year soccer letterman at Washington Township High School for Coach Shane Snyder…Helped the Minutemen capture four straight South Jersey Group 4 titles…First Team All-Conference…Third Team All-State as a senior in 2017…Named team MVP…First Team All-South Jersey from the Courier-Post…South Jersey Times All-Area First Team…Ranked in Top 50 players…Graduated in 2018.
