Rutgers-Camden Athletics

A two-time New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention performer, Tommy Monaghan’s Rutgers-Camden soccer career has been hampered by injuries since his outstanding freshman season in 2022. During his three years with the Scarlet Raptors, Monaghan has played in 31 games, starting 15, and collecting five goals and one assist for 11 points. Three of his five goals have been game winners.
 
Monaghan, who will serve as one of the team’s four captains in 2025, has added numerous academic honors in his collegiate career.
 
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 scholastic years…Member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2022 Fall, 2023 Spring, 2023 Fall, 2024 Fall and 2025 Spring  semesters…Dean’s List student.
 
Soccer 2024: Appeared in five games, starting three…Scored one game-winning goal for two points…Took two shots, one on goal…Scored on a penalty kick at Penn State-Abington (Sept. 4) to lead Rutgers-Camden to a 1-0 victory…In addition to the Penn State-Abington game, he helped the Scarlet Raptors post 1-0 wins against Neumann (Aug. 30) and Haverford (Aug. 31), starting two of those three games as Rutgers-Camden opened the season with three straight one-goal shutout victories.
 
Soccer 2023: Played in four games…Collected one goal and one assist for three points…Took four shots, two on goal…Collected all of his points in a season-opening 4-0 win over Arcadia (Sept. 1), assisting on the Raptors’ second goal and scoring the third goal when he headed in a corner kick…Had two shots in that game and two in a 1-0 win over Neumann (Sept. 5).
 
Soccer 2022: Appeared in all 22 Raptor games, starting 12…Tied for the team lead with three goals, including a team-leading two game-winning goals…Tied for third on the team with six points…Took nine shots, including four on goal…Started his first collegiate game, a 2-0 loss at Arcadia (Sept. 1) in the season opener, while taking his first shot…Notched his first collegiate goal, the game-winning shot, in a 2-1 victory over Whitman (Sept. 10)…His second career tally was the tying goal in a 1-1 deadlock against Penn State-Abington (Sept. 26)…Scored the lone goal of the game to beat Ramapo College, 1-0, on Sept. 28…Had three shots against Ramapo (two on goal), to tie his season-high shot output set against Stevenson (Sept. 11)…Started three of the Scarlet Raptors’ nine shutouts.
 
High School:  Graduated from Central Bucks West High School in 2022.
