Biography

Centerback Nick Yurcho completed his outstanding two-year career at Rutgers-Camden, where he earned a pair of All-New Jersey Athletic Conference honors on the soccer pitch and added NJAC academic recognition. A transfer from Chestnut Hill College, Yurcho started all of his 36 games as a Scarlet Raptor, contributing to 16 of the Raptors’ 17 shutouts over the two-year span, while also adding a game-winning goal and two assists.
 
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Second Team for the 2024-25 scholastic year…Member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2023 Fall, 2024 Spring, 2024 Fall and 2025 Spring semesters…Dean’s List student.
 
Soccer 2024: New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team…Started all 17 of his games, including eight of the team’s nine shutouts…Took four shots, three on goal…Scored one goal and added one assist for three points…Opened the season heading home the game-winning goal at 68:34 for a 1-0 victory over Neumann University (Aug. 30)…In addition to the Neumann game, also helped the team post 1-0 wins over Haverford (Aug. 31) and Penn State-Abington (Sept. 4) to open the season…Contributed to 0-0 shutouts against Virginia Wesleyan (Sept. 15) and Rutgers-Newark (Oct. 2) as well as 1-0 wins over The College of New Jersey (Oct. 16), New Jersey City (Oct. 19) and in a conference playoff game against Rutgers-Newark (Nov. 2)…Helped the team’s defense hold opponents to one or no goals in 16 of his 17 games…Notched his lone assist on Eric Swen’s game-winning goal in the 1-0 NJAC playoff win over Rutgers-Newark on Nov. 2.
 
Soccer 2023: New Jersey Athletic Conference First Team…United Soccer Coaches All-Region IV Second Team…Started all 19 Rutgers-Camden games…Collected one assist, coming on Eric Swen’s goal during a 5-4 win over Immaculata (Sept. 18)…Took three shots, including two on goal…Two of his shots (one on goal) came in a 2-1 loss at The College of New Jersey (Oct. 25)…Contributed to all eight Rutgers-Camden shutouts…Helped the team limit opponents to one goal on four other occasions.
 
Pre-Rutgers: Previously attended Saint Francis College in Brooklyn, LaSalle University and Chestnut Hill College…Started all 14 of his games at Chestnut Hill in 2021…Had his lone assist in a 1-1 tie at Shippensburg (Sept. 7)…Two-time Defender of the Week in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) during his season at Chestnut Hill.
