Rutgers-Camden Athletics

Pedro Jovel-Castro completed his four-year Rutgers-Camden soccer career having appeared in 70 games, starting 39 and registering two goals, five assists and nine points. A versatile athlete who played everywhere from defense to forward, Jovel-Castro captured a pair of All-New Jersey Athletic Conference honors, both on the soccer pitch and in the classroom.

Soccer 2024: Appeared in 19 games, starting six…Took 16 shots, 10 on goal for a .625 shots-on-goal percentage…Collected one goal and one assist for three points…Contributed to all nine Rutgers-Camden shutouts…Scored his lone goal in a 4-1 victory over Lebanon Valley (Sept. 21), helping Rutgers-Camden earn the 500th victory in program history…Assisted on the game-winning goal by Youssef Montasser in a 1-0 victory over The College of New Jersey (Oct. 16)…Took his high of three shots (two on goal) during a 1-0 loss at Stockton (Oct. 12).
 
Soccer 2023: New Jersey Athletic Conference Honorable Mention…Appeared in 13 games, starting 12, during a season interrupted by an injury...Collected two assists…Took six shots, one on goal…Contributed to six of the Scarlet Raptors’ eight shutouts…Collected his first assist in the season-opening 4-0 win over Arcadia (Sept. 1)…Assisted on the Raptors’ lone goal in a 1-1 tie against Rowan (Oct. 11)…Took his high of two shots in a 0-0 tie at Rutgers-Newark (Oct. 14).
 
Soccer 2022: New Jersey Athletic Conference Honorable Mention…Played in all 22 Raptor games, starting 19…Took 10 shots, six on goal…Collected three points, with one assist and one game-winning goal…Started every game except for back-to-back contests against Wilkes (Sept. 17) and Alvernia (Sept. 19)…In the Wilkes game, subbed into the game and notched an assist on the game-winning goal by Ethan Dreyer at 54:40, helping the Raptors to a 2-0 victory…Scored the game-winning goal in a 4-3 win over William Paterson University (Sept. 24)…Started eight of the nine shutouts registered by the Scarlet Raptors.
 
Soccer 2021: Appeared in 16 games, starting two…Notched one assist…Took four shots…Started his first two games of the season, playing 33 minutes in a 3-0 win over Arcadia (Sept. 2) and playing his season high of 54 minutes in a 0-0 deadlock against New York University (Sept. 4)…Played 51 minutes in a 7-0 win over Gwynedd Mercy (Sept. 5)…Earned his first collegiate point with an assist on Raimondo Partito’s goal during a 4-1 win against New Jersey City University (Oct. 16).
 
High School:  Four-year soccer letterman at Timber Creek Regional High School for Coach Sean Ortzman…Earned All-Conference First Team and All-Conference Second Team…National Honor Society…Bilingual…Graduated in 2021.
