Biography

A veteran of the New Jersey Athletic Conference as an undergraduate at Stockton University, Aiya Underwood joined the Scarlet Raptors’ women’s basketball program for her final year of eligibility while pursuing graduate studies at Rutgers-Camden.
 
Academics: Dean’s List student and member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2025 Spring semester…One of only 41 athletes on the 180-member 2025 Spring AD Honor Roll to earn a perfect 4.0 GPA.
 
Basketball 2024-25: Played in all 25 games, starting 24…Averaged 5.4 points and 5.0 rebounds…Had 10 assists and 10 steals…Finished third on the team with six blocked shots…Shot 47-for-122 (.385) from the floor, including 13-for-47 (.277) from three-point range…Shot 27-for-36 (.750) from the foul line…Totaled 134 points and 124 rebounds…Collected double-digit points on four occasions and had double digits in rebounds three times…Notched two double-doubles during the season, with 10 rebounds and 12 points against Montclair State (Dec. 14) and 11 rebounds and 11 points against New Jersey City (Feb. 19) …Also scored 12 points, tying her career high, in games against Drew (Jan. 6, when she added her high of two steals) and William Paterson (Jan. 18)…Made her Scarlet Raptor debut against Penn State-Lehigh Valley (Nov. 9), scoring nine points and grabbing three rebounds…Had her high of two assists against Valley Forge (Nov. 12).
 
Pre-Rutgers: Played in 63 games during her career at Stockton University from 2019-24, starting 16…Averaged 1.6 points and 2.0 rebounds, while collecting 21 steals, six assists and eight blocked shots…Shot 32-for-41 (.780) from the foul line during her career…During the 2023-24 season played in 12 games, starting two, and averaging 1.7 points and 1.5 rebounds…Sidelined practically the entire 2022-23 season after suffering an injury in the season-opening game…Scored her career-high 11 points in a game against Rutgers-Camden on Feb. 19, 2021…Had a career-high 10 rebounds against Alvernia on Nov. 10, 2021, while adding eight points.
