Biography
A two-sport collegiate athlete, Breeanna Stauss completed her four-year Rutgers-Camden lacrosse career in 2022. She appeared in 33 games for the Scarlet Raptors in a career that was shortened by a pair of pandemic-altered seasons. She made 28 career starts and collected 17 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers.
Stauss, who earned her first Rutgers-Camden letter with the women’s basketball team during the 2018-19 season, also captured numerous academic honors during her time as a Dean’s List student.
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention for the 2021-22 scholastic year…Member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and a Dean’s List student for the 2020 Spring, 2020 Fall, 2021 Spring, 2021 Fall and 2022 Spring semesters…One of only 26 athletes on the 119-member 2022 Spring AD Honor Roll to earn a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Lacrosse 2022: Started all 13 Rutgers-Camden games…Notched seven ground balls and two caused turnovers…Took one shot, putting it on goal…Collected two ground balls and one caused turnover in the Scarlet Raptors’ 13-12 season-opening win over Eastern University (March 2)…Took her lone shot against Neumann University (March 9)…Had one ground ball in games against Delaware Valley (March 14), Bryn Athyn (March 19), Immaculata (March 22), Stockton (April 12) and Montclair State (April 16)…Added one caused turnover in the Bryn Athyn game.
Lacrosse 2021: Started all five Rutgers-Camden games during the short season…Tied for fourth on the team with four ground balls…Added one caused turnover…Collected one ground ball apiece in her last four games, coming against The College of New Jersey (April 17), Montclair State (April 21), Stockton (April 24) and Stockton again (April 26) in the New Jersey Athletic Conference quarterfinals…Collected her caused turnover in the game against TCNJ….Took her lone shot, on goal, against Montclair State.
Lacrosse 2020: Started both Rutgers-Camden games during the abbreviated season, notching one ground ball…Played all 60 minutes in the season opener against Manhattanville (March 7) and 54 minutes against Bryn Mawr (March 10)…Had one ground ball against Manhattanville.
Lacrosse 2019: Played in 13 games, starting eight…Notched five ground balls and seven caused turnovers…Made her collegiate lacrosse debut against Gwynedd Mercy (March 19)…Collected first ground ball against DeSales (March 23)…Earned her first start against national power The College of New Jersey (April 9)…Had two caused turnovers and one ground ball against Montclair State (April 13)…Collected one ground ball and a high of four caused turnovers against Immaculata (April 16).
Basketball 2018-19: Played in 21 games, averaging 0.3 points and 0.4 rebounds…Added two assists…Shot 2-for-2 from the foul line…Made her collegiate debut playing two minutes against Gallaudet University (Nov. 10), collecting her first rebound…Notched her first assist at Stockton University (Nov. 28)…Had two rebounds at Kean University (Dec. 8) and tied that career high the second time the Scarlet Raptors played the Cougars (Jan. 26)…Scored her first two points, shooting 2-for-2 from the foul line, at Rutgers-Newark (Jan. 5)…Had two points on her first collegiate field goal at Rowan University (Jan. 16), while also adding one rebound…Collected two points, one assist and one rebound at New Jersey City University (Feb. 9).
