Ashley Barker continues her coaching experience with Rutgers-Camden Head Coach Annette Reiter and Assistant Coach Lauren Creel as she returns for a second year with that duo on the Scarlet Raptors’ staff.
 
Barker and Creel served as assistants when Reiter was the head coach at Penn State-Abington during the 2012-13 season. They also coached with the local South Jersey seventh-grade AAU team, the JKMBA Jaguars, in 2013.
 
Barker played varsity basketball for four seasons at Shawnee High School, helping the Renegades reach the state playoffs each year.
 
Barker was recruited to play basketball at Wesley College, and played two seasons with the Wolverines. She transferred to Rowan University to become a health and physical education teacher with an endorsement in special education. At Rowan, she became involved with the basketball team as a student coach, where she “had the opportunity to instruct and interact with athletes at a competitive level of basketball.”
 
Barker has participated in competitive basketball leagues and worked various basketball camps during the off-season, including the Sixers’ overnight/day camp and ones with Princeton University, Burlington County College, the SuperRat Academy, JKMBA and the HoopGroup Invitational.
 
Barker, who “enjoys educating, coaching and inspiring children of all ages,” obtained her BA in Education from Rowan University in December 2013. She lives in Medford Lakes with her parents Eric and Kim Barker.
