Fred Philipps returns to the Rutgers-Camden coaching staff for his second season.
 
A long-time girls’ varsity coach at Holy Cross High School from the 2003-04 season until the end of the 2017-18 season, Philipps was named the Burlington County Coach of the Year in 2003-04 in his first year at the helm. In 2017, he was awarded the Carol Van Liew Award for Outstanding Distinguished Service, Honor and Class by the South Jersey Invitational Tournament.
 
The Lady Lancers compiled a record of 251-152 during his 15-year coaching career at Holy Cross. The Lancers won division titles in 2010-11 and 2013-14 in the Patriot Division and in 2017-18 in the Freedom Division.
 
Some of Philipps’ Holy Cross players who went on to play in college were Stephanie Deisley (Rutgers University-Camden), Jill Bennett (Wilmington College), Mackenzie Moran (Brandeis University), Danielle Howard (Providence College), Amanda Offenback (Monmouth University) and Alliya Butts (Temple University).
 
Fred has been married to his wife of 39 years, Patricia. The couple have four children, Karen, Tracey, Jaqi and Chris, and six grandchildren, Rachel, Sarah, Chase, Ava, Leah and Shane.
 
Philipps was the golf professional at the Riverton Country Club from 1966 until his retirement in 2013.
