Vol. Assistant Coach            Jalissa Pitts (1st season)
High School:                        Winslow Township
College:                                Rutgers University-Camden (2023)
Major:                                   Nursing

One of the all-time great players in Rutgers-Camden women’s basketball history, Jalissa Pitts finished her celebrated career during the 2022-23 season, earning her third all-conference honor by being named to the New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team.

In a shortened career due to the six-game pandemic season of 2020-21, Pitts scored 1,114 points in only 74 games (73 starts) for a 15.1 scoring average. Despite having most of her sophomore season cancelled by the pandemic, Pitts ranks 13th on the program’s scoring list. She also ranks fourth on the program’s all-time list for free throw attempts (478), fourth in free throw percentage (66.7, with a minimum of 250 free throws made), fifth in free throws made (319), 12th in total rebounds (528) and points per game (15.1, with a minimum of 750 points), 13th in rebounds per game (7.1, with a minimum of 450 rebounds), 22nd in assists (129) and 23rd in steals (122).

In addition to her basketball accomplishments, the Nursing major received numerous academic awards. She captured NJAC Academic Honorable Mention during her sophomore, junior and senior years (freshmen aren’t eligible for that honor) and was a seven-time Dean’s List student and member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.

A nine-time Rutgers-Camden Raptor of the Week during her career, Pitts also was named the NJAC Rookie of the Week (Feb. 3, 2020).

Pitts earned 10 varsity letters as a multi-sport athlete at Winslow Township High School, including four apiece for basketball and soccer and two for outdoor track. A two-time All-Olympic Conference First Team basketball player, she also finished high school with a 4.6 GPA, ranking #21 in her class.
