Biography
Grace Albert played one match with the women’s tennis program during the 2024 fall semester, joined the women’s basketball program over the winter and finished the scholastic year as an all-conference doubles player with the tennis team during the spring semester. She also added academic honors during both semesters.
Academics: Member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2024 Fall and 2025 Spring semesters…Dean’s List student.
Tennis Spring 2025: Named to the All-New Jersey Athletic Conference Doubles team with partner Jilliane Jaugan after recording a 3-1 record in conference matches…Went 2-4 in singles during the spring season, (2-3 at third singles and 0-1 at fourth singles), including a 2-2 mark in NJAC play…Posted a 4-2 mark in doubles during the spring, including a 2-2 mark at first doubles and 2-0 mark at second doubles, all teaming with Jaugan…In the spring opener at Salisbury (Mar. 29), dopped a 6-2, 6-0 match at third singles and a 6-0 match at first doubles…The next day at NJAC power The College of New Jersey, was swept at third singles (6-0, 6-0) and first doubles (6-0)…In a conference match against Stockton (Apr. 5), lost a tight match at fourth singles (6-7, 1-6) and posted a 6-3 win at second doubles…Swept a pair of conference matches against Kean (Apr. 12), winning 6-2, 6-0 at third singles and 6-0 at first doubles…Posted a pair of NJAC wins at William Paterson (Apr. 16), winning at third singles (6-2, 6-0) and first doubles (6-0)…In a conference semifinal match at Stockton (Apr. 23), lost a marathon match at third singles by a tight 6-4, 6-7 (3-7), 2-6 score and won her match at second doubles (6-1).
Basketball 2024-25: Appeared in 11 games, averaging 0.7 points and 1.3 rebounds…Collected five steals, one assist and one blocked shot…Shot 3-for-8 (.375) from the floor and 2-for-2 (1.000) from the foul line…Made her collegiate debut against Penn State-Lehigh Valley (Nov. 9), playing four minutes…Scored her high of four points against Cairn (Nov. 15), going 1-for-3 from the floor and 2-for-2 from the foul line, while adding two rebounds, two steals and one blocked shot…Added two points and one steal against City College of New York (Jan. 4)…Collected three rebounds against Drew (Jan. 6)…Notched her lone assist against Ramapo (Jan. 25)…Added three rebounds and two points against William Paterson (Feb. 15).
Tennis Fall 2024: Joined the team late in the season and participated in one match, playing fourth singles and second doubles against Stockton University (Oct. 11)…Went 2-0 overall, posting a 6-3, 6-1 win in singles and teaming with Jilliane Jaugan for a 7-5 victory in doubles.
High School: Two-sport letterwinner in basketball and tennis at Cumberland Regional High School…Earned All-Conference Second Team honors as a senior for Basketball Coach Steven Kaneshiki…On the tennis court, she captured All-Conference First Team honors as a junior and a senior…National Honor Society…Class salutatorian…Distinguished Honors…Graduated in 2024.
Personal: Born October 8, 2005…Nickname is “Gracie”…Hobbies and interests include hanging out with friends and family, reading, shopping, watching TV, and going to the beach…Nursing major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to work at Cooper Hospital as a nurse, settle down and have a family…Grace is the daughter of Rebecca Thompson-Albert and Gary Albert of Greenwich.
