Biography
Jordan Trusty-Smith has played a major role in the success of the Rutgers-Camden men’s basketball program during his two seasons on campus. He has averaged 8.4 points and 3.1 rebounds in 41 career games (20 starts), while dishing off 102 assists and grabbing 60 steals. He also has added numerous academic honors.
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention for the 2023-24 scholastic year…Member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2022 Fall, 2023 Spring, 2023 Fall and 2024 Spring semesters…Dean’s List student.
Basketball 2023-24: Played in 24 of the team’s 25 games, starting six…Averaged 7.7 points (fourth on the team) and 2.5 rebounds…Led the Scarlet Raptors with 60 assists and finished third on the team with 34 steals…Shot .467 from the floor (71-for-152)…Shot .763 (29-for-38) from the foul line…Scored in double figures on seven occasions, including 17 points against Montclair State (Jan. 20) and 15 against Rowan (Jan. 31)…Had a season high of six rebounds and a career high of seven assists against William Paterson (Jan. 13)…Also scored 10 points, including 8-for-8 shooting from the foul line, in that Paterson game…Blocked three shots, with one apiece coming against The College of New Jersey (Nov. 21), Penn State-Berks (Jan. 3) and New Jersey City (Feb. 14) to tie his career high…Had 12 games with three or more assists and five games with three or more steals.
Basketball 2022-23: Appeared in 17 games, starting 14, in a season interrupted by an injury…Finished second on the team with 42 assists and second with 26 steals…Placed second on the team in scoring (9.5 ppg)…Fourth on the team in rebounding (3.9 rpg)…Shot .620 (31-for-50) from the foul line and .386 (59-for-153) from the floor…Hit 12 of his 42 three-point attempts (.286)…Exploded for 19 points in his first Rutgers-Camden game, shooting 8-for-16 from the floor and 3-for-3 from the foul line at Cabrini (Nov. 9), while adding eight rebounds and two steals…Had 14 points in back-to-back games against Saint Elizabeth (Nov. 12) and Delaware Valley (Nov. 16)…In his first game back from an injury, scored 13 points off the bench against Stockton (Jan. 25)…Collected 16 points against Rowan (Feb. 1)…Had 14 points, his sixth game in double digits, at William Paterson (Feb. 11), while adding his season high of nine rebounds…Dished off his high of six assists at Bryn Athyn (Nov. 19) and had five assists in the Saint Elizabeth game…Collected a season-high six steals against both Bryn Athyn (Nov. 19) and FDU-Florham (Nov. 27)…Had his lone blocked shot at New Jersey City (Feb. 15).
Pre-Rutgers: Started his academic career at Juniata College during the 2021-22 scholastic year but didn’t play basketball.
High School: Basketball letterman at Annapolis Area Christian School…Honor Roll student all four years…Learned American Sign Language…Graduated in 2021.

Personal: Born December 5, 2002…Enjoys “spending time with God, family and friends, watching TV, listening to music, helping others in need and traveling”… Member of the Rutgers-Camden Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)…Business Management major at Rutgers-Camden who hopes to work in the front office of an NBA team…Jordan is the son of Beshon Trusty and Kenneth Smith of Crofton, Maryland.
