Rutgers-Camden Athletics

Ciara Butler had a stellar rookie season for the Scarlet Raptors in 2022 during her first year playing collegiate lacrosse. She finished among the program’s leaders in goals, points, ground balls and draw controls while starting all 13 Rutgers-Camden games.
 
A junior academically for the 2022-23 scholastic year, she will have sophomore athletic eligibility for lacrosse.
 
Lacrosse 2022: Started all 13 Rutgers-Camden games…Tied for third on the team with 11 goals…Added three assists to finish fourth on the team with 14 points…Had 28 shots, including 24 on goal…Her team-leading .857 shots-on-goal percentage is tied for the fifth-highest single-season mark in program history for all players scoring the minimum of 10 goals…Finished fourth on the team with 13 ground balls and 12 draw controls…Was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week on March 7 after appearing in her first collegiate game, collecting two goals, two ground balls and three draw controls in a season-opening 13-12 win over Eastern University (March 2)…Had single goals and two draw controls in games against both Neumann (March 9) and Delaware Valley (March 14), while adding a ground ball and her first caused turnover against Neumann and two ground balls in the Del Val game…Collected one goal and her first collegiate assist against Gwynedd Mercy (March 16)…Collected two goals and two ground balls against Immaculata (March 22)… Scored one goal and added one draw control against Kean (April 9)…Produced her career high of seven points with three goals and one assists in a 13-12 loss at Ramapo (April 23), while putting six of her seven shots on goal.
 
High School: Earned three varsity letters in lacrosse at Montclair High School…Was a two-year starter and a two-time Brine All-American…2019 captain as a senior…National Honor Society in 2018-19…Graduated in 2019.
