Biography

Kacie Walton started in both games during the Scarlet Raptors’ abbreviated 2020 season, which ended prematurely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite her short season, Walton broke the program’s career record for caused turnovers, hiking the mark to 74, and would have broken the mark for ground balls if she had the opportunity. She finished the year with 130 career ground balls, only seven shy of tying the mark. The short season also deprived her of the chance to tie the program’s record for career games: she finished with 46 games played, 13 shy of the record, after 13 games on the season schedule were wiped out.

In addition to her program record for caused turnovers, Walton set the mark for ground balls per game (2.83), finished second in total ground balls (130), third in caused turnovers per game (1.74), ninth in games (46) and tied for ninth in starts (44). She also had nine career goals and one assist for 10 points, while adding 11 draw controls.

A two-time New Jersey Athletic Conference Honorable Mention performer, Walton played in all 46 Rutgers-Camden games during her career. She was named the Most Valuable Player on the 2019 team.
