Biography

A two-time team co-captain, Ashton Sirko completed her third season with the Rutgers-Camden women’s tennis program during the 2024-25 scholastic year. An outstanding student with numerous academic accomplishments, Sirko owns 23 career singles wins (tied for ninth on the program’s all-time chart) and 21 career doubles victories (10th). Her 44 wins mark the 10th-highest overall total in Rutgers-Camden history and her 13 doubles victories paired with Katie Moore are the sixth-highest amount with one doubles partner.
 
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 scholastic years…Dean’s List student and member of the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2022 Fall, 2023 Spring, 2023 Fall, 2024 Spring, 2024 Fall and 2025 Spring semesters…One of only 30 student-athletes on the 138-member 2024 Spring AD Honor Roll to earn a 4.0 GPA.
 
Tennis Spring 2025: Served as a team co-captain with Katie Moore for the second straight year…Notched a 5-2 singles record (3-2 at fifth singles and 1-0 at both the third and fourth spots)…Went 4-4 in doubles (2-2 at both first and second doubles), pairing with Moore in every match…Opened the semester with her only two singles losses of the spring, both at the fifth spot against Salisbury, Mar. 29, 0-6, 2-6) and at conference power The College of New Jersey (Mar. 30, 0-6, 0-6), while also losing second doubles matches at both schools by 6-1 scores…Started her season-ending five-match winning streak in singles with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at the fifth flight against Stockton (Apr. 5), while dropping a 6-3 decision at first doubles…Posted a 6-1 victory at second doubles against Kean (Apr. 12) and William Paterson (Apr. 16) in back-to-back conference matches…Added wins at fifth singles against Kean (6-0, 6-0) and Paterson (6-1, 6-0)…Swept Trinity Washington (Apr. 18) at fourth singles (6-0, 6-0) and also won her match at first doubles (6-2)…Notched wins against Bryn Athyn (Apr. 21) at third singles (6-0, 6-0) and first doubles (6-1)…Lost a conference semifinal match at first singles (6-3) at Stockton (Apr. 23).
 
Tennis Fall 2024: Posted a 5-2 mark in singles (0-1 at second singles, 0-1 at third singles, 2-0 at fourth singles and 3-0 at fifth singles)…Notched a 2-4 mark in doubles (0-1 at first doubles with Jayde Sue Silva and 2-3 at second doubles, including 2-2 with Silva and 0-1 with Bryn Kelleher)…Earned a 6-4, 6-3 win in singles and lost a close 6-7 (7-9) decision in doubles in the season-opening match against DeSales (Sept. 7)…Swept her singles match (6-0, 6-0) and doubles match (6-0) against Penn State Brandywine (Sept. 20)…In her only action against Division II Kutztown, dropped a 1-6 doubles decision with Silva (Sept. 21)…Swept SUNY-Delhi (Sept. 22) in singles (6-0, 6-0) and posted a 6-1 win in doubles…Dropped a pair of matches at Wilkes (Oct. 5), including singles (5-7, 2-6) and 3-6 in her lone match at first doubles…Lost a pair of matches at York in singles (2-6, 1-6) and doubles (2-6) on Oct. 12…Played fourth singles in her final two matches, posting a 6-0, 6-0 win over Lehman (Oct. 14) and a 6-2, 6-1 victory at Eastern (Oct. 19).
 
Tennis Spring 2024: Posted a 7-7 singles record during the spring semester (4-4 at second singles and 3-3 at the third spot)…Compiled a 9-6 mark in doubles, playing at the top spot with fellow co-captain Katie Moore during all of her spring matches…In second singles, posted wins over Eastern (March 22, 6-1, 6-3), Cedar Crest (March 29, 6-2, 6-0), Bryn Athyn (April 1, 8-4) and Notre Dame (April 6, 6-2, 6-0)…Lost at second singles against 35th-ranked The College of New Jersey (March 24, 1-6, 0-6), in a tough 6-7 (2-7), 1-6 match at Arcadia (March 30), at King’s (April 7, 1-6, 1-6) and at Stockton (April 13, 1-6, 1-6)…Posted wins at third singles over Kean (April 5, 6-1, 6-4), William Paterson (April 17, 6-0, 6-3) and Ramapo (April 20, 6-2, 4-6, 10-4)…Losses at third singles came against Elizabethtown (April 7, 4-6, 1-6), Neumann (April 12, 1-6, 4-6) and SUNY-Oneonta (April 19, 2-6, 1-6)…After splitting her first four doubles matches of the season  (8-1 wins over Eastern and Cedar Crest, a 2-8 loss to nationally-ranked TCNJ and a 4-8 loss at Arcadia), rolled up six straight doubles victories with Moore against Bryn Athyn (8-0), Kean (8-0), Notre Dame (8-2), Elizabethtown (8-2), King’s (8-6) and Neumann (8-5)…Lost a 4-8 doubles match at Stockton and won, 8-0, against William Paterson…Dropped a pair of 2-8 doubles matches against SUNY-Oneonta and Ramapo before losing against TCNJ, 0-8, in the New Jersey Athletic Conference semifinals (April 24).
 
Tennis Fall 2023: Posted a 1-3 record in singles and a 1-1 mark in doubles during the brief fall season…Posted an 8-0 win at second doubles with Jayde Sue Silva at Penn State Brandywine (Sept. 17)…Lost at Bryn Mawr (Sept. 22), by a 0-6, 0-6 score at second singles and an 0-8 score at second doubles with Silva…Played in the B flight singles at the Goucher Invitational (Oct. 8), losing matches against Dickinson (0-4, 0-4) and Goucher (0-4, 1-4) and beating Stevenson (3-4, 4-1, 10-1).
 
Tennis Spring 2023: Finished the scholastic year with a 5-11 record in singles and a 5-10 doubles mark after going 4-7 during the spring in singles and 5-7 in doubles…Went 3-6 at fifth singles, 1-0 at sixth singles and 0-1 at fourth singles during the spring…Played at third doubles in all spring matches, teaming with Alyna Cabrera eight times (3-5) and Lindsay Hernandez four times (2-2)…Posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory at fifth singles against Bryn Athyn (March 31) and added an 8-2 win in doubles, teaming with Cabrera for her first career doubles victory…Notched three consecutive singles wins in New Jersey Athletic Conference play with a 6-2, 6-1 win over William Paterson (April 19), an 8-7, 6-4 victory at sixth singles over Ramapo (April 21) and a marathon 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-2) win over Kean (April 22)…In doubles, earned wins against Arcadia (8-2, April 10) and Ramapo (8-1, April 21) while teaming with Cabrera and victories against William Paterson (8-4, April 19) and Kean (8-3, April 22) combining with Hernandez…Lost a pair of tight 6-8 doubles decisions during an April 16 tri-match against Elizabethtown and King’s.
 
Tennis Fall 2022: Posted a 1-4 record at fifth singles and a 0-3 mark in doubles (0-1 at second doubles with Katie Moore and 0-2 at third doubles with Halle Derry)…Dropped singles matches against Goucher (1-6, 5-7, Sept. 10), Bryn Mawr (0-6, 4-6, Sept. 17), Moravian (3-6, 1-6, Oct. 8) and York (2-6, 1-6, Oct. 15)…Notched her first collegiate victory with a 6-0, 6-0 win against Cabrini (Oct. 7)…In doubles, teamed with Derry in losses against Goucher (0-8) and Bryn Mawr (2-8)…Also lost a 3-8 doubles decision with Moore at Moravian.
 
High School: Three-year varsity tennis letterwinner at Kingsway Regional High School for Coach Drew Laverty…Tri-County Conference First Team…Also earned four varsity golf letters for the Dragons…National Honor Society…Graduated in 2022.
