The longest-tenured member of the 2016-17 women’s tennis program, Christine Abacan returns for her fourth season with the Scarlet Raptors this fall. Over her three-year career she has posted a 9-12 record in singles and a 7-15 doubles mark, for a 16-27 record overall. Her 16 overall wins are tied for 10th on the program’s career chart.

An outstanding student as well, she was a member of the inaugural Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll during the 2015 fall semester. She repeated on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in the 2016 spring semester and also captured New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention during her 2014-15 sophomore year.
Tennis 2015-16: Posted an overall record of 6-12, including a 5-4 mark at third singles and a 1-8 log at second double, where she teamed with four different partners…Went 1-4 in doubles with Ina San Buenaventura, 0-2 with Alexa Rocks and 0-1 with both Lindsay Day and Bryana Foxx-Parham…Won her first four singles matches, coming against Cabrini College Sept. 1 (when her opponent retired), Cedar Crest College Sept. 3 (3-6, 6-4, 10-6), Rutgers-Newark Sept. 5 (6-1, 7-5) and Neumann University Sept. 15 (6-1, 6-1)…Also won her final singles match of the season against William Paterson University Oct. 25 (6-0, 6-2)…Went 2-3 in doubles play against NJAC opponents…Her doubles win, coming with San Buenaventura against Rutgers-Newark on Sept. 5, came by an 8-6 score.
Tennis 2014-15: Posted an overall record of 9-12 in her second season with the Scarlet Raptors as a sophomore…Went 4-6 at singles (1-1 at fourth singles and 3-5 at fifth singles) and was 5-6 at doubles (5-5 at second doubles and 0-1 at third doubles)…Named New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention.
Tennis 2013-14: Compiled an overall record of 1-3 during her first season of collegiate tennis…Went 0-2 in singles play at sixth singles…Was 1-1 at doubles (1-0 at second doubles and 0-1 at third doubles).
High School: Played tennis at Collingswood High School for Coach Miles Holland…Named North Jersey Community Tennis Association All-Star in doubles…Recipient of a Captain’s Award.
