Danielle Lemma has posted a 48-38 overall record during her four seasons with the Rutgers-Camden women’s tennis program. She ranks second on the program’s career list for overall wins, singles victories (25) and doubles wins (23).
Lemma has been an impact player since her freshman year, when she was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year and captured two NJAC Women’s Tennis Rookie of the Week honors. She served as the Raptors’ team co-captain as a sophomore and has been the team captain during both her junior and senior seasons. Lemma also has captured honors as both the team’s Most Valuable Player and the Raptors’ Most Dedicated Player.
Off the court, Lemma has served as a member of the Rutgers-Camden Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) during the 2017-18 scholastic year, and has earned Dean’s List honors and three berths on the Athletic Director’s Academic Honor Roll.

Tennis Fall 2019: Compiled an overall record of 15-5, including 8-2 in singles (2-0 fourth singles and 6-2 fifth singles)…Went 7-3 playing first doubles with Tiffany Trivers…Dropped her first two singles matches of the season (1-6, 1-6 at Stockton Aug. 31 and 4-6, 0-6 at TCNJ Sept. 1) before winning the last eight…Posted a 6-3, 6-1 singles win at Goucher College (Sept. 9) and followed with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at Cairn (Sept. 11)…Won a marathon singles match at Kean University (6-2, 3-6, 10-3 on Sept. 14) and played her first match at four singles the next day, posting a 6-1, 6-0 victory at Juniata College (Sept. 15),,,Captured a 6-1, 6-0 singles victory at Ramapo College (Sept. 21), and an 8-0 win at Gwynedd Mercy (Sept. 27)…Closed her singles competition with back-to-back 6-0, 6-0 wins against NJAC opponents William Paterson (Sept. 28) and Rutgers-Newark (Sept. 30, playing her other match in the fourth singles position)…In doubles play, lost the first three matches of the season with her partner Trivers, before rattling off seven straight wins to finish 7-3 at first doubles…Dropped matches at Stockton (4-8), at TCNJ (3-8) and at Goucher (3-8)…Notched her first doubles win at Cairn (8-2) and followed with wins at Kean (8-3), at Juniata (8-4) and home against Ramapo (8-4)…Posted an 8-6 victory at Gwynedd Mercy before closing the season with a pair of NJAC doubles victories against William Paterson (8-3) and Rutgers-Newark (8-2).
Tennis Spring 2019: Posted a 1-1 record at second singles and a 1-1 mark in doubles (0-1 first doubles, 1-0 third doubles) in the Scarlet Raptors’ two spring matches…Lost an 8-3 singles decision and an 8-3 first doubles decision (with Aubrey Hawn) at Penn State-Abington (April 6)…In the season-ending match against Yeshiva University (April 14), posted a 6-2, 6-0 singles victory and an 8-2 third doubles win (with Hannah Cohan).
Tennis Fall 2018: Named the program’s Most Dedicated Player…Honored as the New Jersey Athletic Conference Player of the Week (Oct. 1)…Also named Rutgers-Camden Raptor of the Week (Oct. 1)…Served as team captain…Posted a 3-6 record in singles (2-5 at second singles, 1-0 at first singles, 0-1 at the USTA/ITA Regionals)…Went 7-3 in doubles, teaming with Tiffany Trivers (2-2 first doubles, 5-0 second doubles and 0-1 in the USTA/ITA Regionals)…Earned singles victories at Cedar Crest (Sept. 15, 6-0, 6-0), at William Paterson (Sept. 28, 6-0, 6-0) and against Kean (Sept. 30, 6-1, 6-0)…Captured wins at second doubles against Cedar Crest (Sept. 15, 8-0), Goucher (Sept. 16, 8-3), Kean (Sept. 30, 8-2), Rutgers-Newark (Oct. 6, 8-1) and Ursinus (Oct. 7, 8-7 (7-4))…Earned wins at first doubles against Stockton (Aug. 31, 8-6) and William Paterson (Sept. 28, 8-0).
Tennis Spring 2018: Played third singles in the Scarlet Raptors’ lone match of the spring, a 9-0 loss at Ursinus College (March 17), dropping a 1-6, 1-6 decision…Also teamed with Annalise Kipp at first doubles in that match, losing a 1-8 decision.
Tennis Fall 2017: Compiled a 6-5 record in singles (1-1 second singles, 5-4 third singles) and a 4-6 mark in doubles (4-5 at first doubles with Kipp and 0-1 at Anna Archut at second doubles)…After dropping a pair of season-opening matches against NJAC powerhouse The College of New Jersey on Sept. 1 (1-6, 0-6 in third singles and 1-8 in first doubles), she posted two victories at those spots against William Paterson University (Sept. 10), winning 6-0, 6-1 in singles and 8-3 in doubles…Captured a 6-0, 6-3 victory in singles and lost a tough 7-9 decision in doubles against Ramapo College (Sept. 16)…Posted a three-match winning streak at third singles against Immaculata University (Sept. 23, 6-2, 6-1), McDaniel College (Oct. 7, 6-2, 6-2) and Cedar Crest College (Oct. 14, 6-1, 6-0)…Also earned a doubles victory against Immaculata (8-3)…Collected a pair of wins against Cedar Crest College (Oct. 14), including a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at third singles and an 8-3 win at first doubles…Played her first match of the season at second singles (losing 1-6, 0-6) and at second doubles (losing 6-8 with Archut) against the College of Staten Island (Oct. 15)…Split two matches at Kean University (Oct. 21), winning at first doubles (8-5) and losing at third singles (0-3, retired)…In her final match of the season against Penn State-Brandywine (Oct. 22), posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at second doubles).
Tennis 2016-17 (competition in the fall semester only): Posted an 11-9 overall record in her first year of collegiate tennis…Named the NJAC Rookie of the Year…Named Rutgers-Camden’s Most Valuable Player…Had the Raptors’ best singles mark of 7-3, including 4-2 at second singles and 3-1 at third singles…Went 4-6 in doubles, including 4-5 at first doubles with Kipp and 0-1 at second doubles with Christine Abacan…Earned NJAC Rookie of the Week honors on both Sept. 19 and Oct. 3…Earned her first collegiate victory at third singles with a 2-6, 6-2, 10-6 win against Stockton University (Sept. 17)…That victory kicked off a four-match winning streak in singles, with the next three all coming at second singles against Ramapo College Sept. 24 (6-4, 7-6), Lycoming College Oct. 1 (6-0, 6-4) and William Paterson University Oct. 2 (6-1, 6-3)…After dropping a close 1-6, 7-5, 7-10 decision against Rutgers-Newark Oct. 9 at second singles, closed out the year with three straight singles victories, including a weekend sweep at third singles against Cedar Crest College Oct. 15 (6-1, 6-1) and Penn State-Brandywine Oct. 16 (6-1, 6-2)…Won her final singles match at the second flight against Kean University Oct. 30 (6-0, 6-1)…In doubles, lost her first six matches (all but one at first doubles with Kipp) before winning her last four matches of the season…Notched her first collegiate doubles victory at first doubles with Kipp against Rutgers-Newark Oct. 9 by an 8-5 score….Also won the next three matches at first doubles, teaming with Kipp, to close out the season, winning at Cedar Crest College Oct. 15 (8-5), at Penn State-Brandywine Oct. 16 (8-) and against Kean University in the season’s final match Oct. 30 (8-2).
High School: Graduated from Haddon Township High School in 2015…Three-year varsity tennis player, earning All-Colonial Conference Second Team honors as a junior and a senior…Set the program’s record for most wins in a season with a stellar 26-4 mark at the No. 3 spot...Added one varsity basketball letter…Played for Coach Tom Mulligan in both sports…Graduated in 2015.
Personal: Born November 20, 1996…Loves dogs, including a boxer (Diesel) and a Black Lab/Rottweiler mix (Jean) of her own…Health Sciences major with a Psychology minor at Rutgers-Camden…Plans to attend graduate school…Danielle is the daughter of Diane and Matt Lemma of Clementon.
