Biography
Ina San Buenaventura returns to the Rutgers-Camden women’s tennis program this season after taking a year off during the 2016-17 campaign. A four-year tennis player at Deptford High School, she made her collegiate debut during her freshman year (2015-16), while also earning a berth on the inaugural Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll (Fall 2015 semester). She repeated on the AD Honor Roll during the Spring 2016 semester.
A junior academically, she has sophomore eligibility in tennis.
Tennis 2015-16: Earned her first collegiate tennis letter…Went 0-2 at third singles and 0-5 at fourth singles for the Scarlet Raptors…Went 1-6 at second doubles, playing with Christine Abacan (1-4), Alexa Rocks (0-1) and Bryana Foxx-Parham (0-1)…Made her collegiate debut Sept. 1 against Cabrini College, losing fourth singles, 6-0, 6-1, and losing second doubles with Abacan, 8-0…Lost fourth singles against Rutgers-Newark (Sept. 5) by 6-1, 6-3 score and posted her first collegiate win, teaming with Abacan at second doubles for an 8-6 victory.
High School: Graduated in 2015 from Deptford High School…Competed all four years on the Spartans’ first doubles team for Coaches Dan Fishman and Jenn Juhring…Played in the Gloucester County Times Women’s Tennis Tournament…Graduated Summa Cum Laude…Awarded multiple academic awards during her scholastic career, including Spartan of the Month…Honored by the United States Students Academy for writing and literature…Vice President of the National Honor Society…Attained Principal’s Honors throughout high school and earned numerous scholarships.
Personal: Born April 6, 1995…Hobbies and interests include singing, acting, cooking and travelling…Nursing major at Rutgers-Camden…Plans to attend Johns Hopkins University for graduate school, become a Nurse Anesthetist and travel the world…Ina is the daughter of Lourdes and Ferdinand San Buenaventura of Sewell.
