One of the program’s all-time great players, Brinn Hassan returned to the Rutgers-Camden volleyball team as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2024 season and enters her second year on the coaching staff in 2025.
Hassan set the Scarlet Raptors’ career assist record (2,769) during her stellar four-year career from 2018-22, while finishing second in assists per set (7.14), third in aces (184), fifth in matches (119), 10th in sets (388), 10th in digs (719) and 15th in hitting percentage (.182).
During her final season in 2022, Hassan also set a single-season program record with 8.61 assists per set and notched 852 assists, second only to her program-record 861 assists accomplished in 2021.

Hassan holds the program’s single-match assist records for a three-set match (43 vs. William Paterson on March 2, 2021), four-set match (53 vs. Gwynedd Mercy on Oct. 20, 2022) and a five-set match (53 vs. Montclair State on Oct. 11, 2022).
A two-time All-New Jersey Athletic Conference Second Team honoree (2020 and 2022), Brinn is the third of three Hassan sisters to star on the volleyball court for Rutgers-Camden, following in the footsteps of siblings Aubrey (2010-12) and Brooke (2013-15). She was a three-time Rutgers-Camden Raptor of the Week honoree, earning the award on March 8, 2020, during the shortened pandemic season, on Nov. 1, 2021, and on Sept. 12, 2022.
In the classroom, Hassan captured NJAC Academic Honorable Mention for the 2022-23 scholastic year, was a Dean’s List student and earned six berths on the Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. She was one of only 26 athletes on the 119-member 2022 Spring AD Honor Roll to earn a perfect 4.0 GPA.
During her scholastic days at Williamstown High School, Hassan captured All-South Jersey First Team, All-County First Team and All-Conference First Team recognition as a senior, while serving as the Braves’ team captain. During her junior season she earned All-County Second Team and All-Conference Second Team honors.
Hassan started her coaching career as an assistant with the 16U Marlton Volleyball Club during the 2022-23 season. She served as the head coach of the 17U Marlton Volleyball Club in 2023-24. She also was the freshman assistant coach at Williamstown High School during the 2023 fall season, helping the team post a 9-0 record.
Hassan graduated from Rutgers-Camden in 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She works as a 1:1 Paraprofessional Aide at the Kingsway Learning Center.
