Biography

Isabella Tamburrino became one of the Scarlet Raptors’ top offensive threats during her second season with the lacrosse program in 2022. She has started 12 of her 17 career games, producing 17 goals and five assists for 22 points. Tamburrino, who started her collegiate career with the Raptors’ volleyball team in 2020, also has collected eight ground balls, seven draw controls and five caused turnovers during her lacrosse career.
 
In addition to her athletic exploits, Tamburrino has garnered numerous academic honors while majoring in the demanding Nursing field.
 
Academics: New Jersey Athletic Conference Academic Honorable Mention for the 2021-22 scholastic year…Rutgers-Camden Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and Dean’s List student for the 2020 Fall, 2021 Spring, 2021 Fall and 2022 Spring semesters…One of only 29 athletes on the 151-member 2020 Fall AD Honor Roll to post a perfect 4.0 GPA…One of only 26 athletes on the 119-member 2022 Spring AD Honor Roll to post a perfect 4.0 GPA.
 
Lacrosse 2022: Appeared in 12 of the Scarlet Raptors’ 13 games, starting eight…Finished second on the team in goals (14), assists (5) and points (19)…Took 32 shots, 24 on goal…Added five ground balls, three draw controls and three caused turnovers…Notched three goals and added one assist in a season-opening 13-12 win over Eastern University (March 2)…Had two goals, two assists, two ground balls and one caused turnover as the Scarlet Raptors defeated Delaware Valley, 16-11 (March 14)…Collected three goals, one draw control and two caused turnovers at Ramapo College (April 23)…Notched one goal, one assist and two ground balls at Bryn Athyn (March 19)…Had two goals and one draw control against Immaculata (March 22)…Also scored single goals against Gwynedd Mercy (March 16), Rowan (April 19) and The College of New Jersey (April 26)…Her goal against nationally-ranked TCNJ was the Scarlet Raptors’ lone goal in a 22-1 loss…Had her high of two caused turnovers in the Ramapo game.
 
Lacrosse 2021: Played in all five Rutgers-Camden games, starting four, during the abbreviated season…Second on the team with three goals…Tied for second with three points…Took six shots, four on goal…Tied for second on the team with four draw controls…Had three ground balls and two caused turnovers…Made her lacrosse debut in a start against Kean (April 3), notching one goal, one ground ball and one caused turnover…Had the Raptors’ lone goal in a 19-1 loss at The College of New Jersey (April 17)…Collected one ground ball against Montclair State (April 21)…Notched the team’s lone goal in a New Jersey Athletic Conference playoff loss at Stockton (April 26), while adding one ground ball, four draw controls and one caused turnover.
 
Volleyball 2020: Appeared in three matches, collecting 11 digs during the Scarlet Raptors’ march to the New Jersey Athletic Conference semifinals…Had only two reception errors in 17 attempts for a .882 percentage…Made her debut in a win at William Paterson (March 2), collecting 10 digs…Added one dig in a match against eventual NJAC champion Stockton (March 4).
 
High School: Captured seven varsity letters at Williamstown High School, including two in volleyball for Coach Christopher Sheppard…Also had three lacrosse letters and two basketball letters…Earned All-County First Team and All-Conference Second Team as a volleyball senior…Ranked in the top 15 percent of her class and posted a 4.0 GPA…Member of the National Honor Society…Honorable and Principle’s List student…Graduated in 2020.
 
Personal: Born October 21, 2001…Nicknamed “Belle” or “Tambo”…Nursing major at Rutgers-Camden who plans to become a Pediatric Nurse…Sister Christina was a four-year starter on the Rutgers-Camden softball team from 2010-13…Isabella is the daughter of Regina and Michael Tamburrino of Williamstown.
